That… looks exactly like Smaug's Fire Burger that they had for the Desolation of Smaug tie in. I liked that actually.

Positive twitter reviews - This doesn't sound right to me.

Negative twitter reviews - LOL knew it was gonna suck.

Double standards.

Well, I for one and maybe just a slight bit more optimistic now than I was, but I will still have to see it myself. If it's fun then that's all I need.

Default The Screening

A friend of mine was at the screening, He said the movie was OK at best and that most people felt like they were obligated to say it was good.

He also said "Marvel has nothing to worry about, But knowing Fox the sequel will be a soft reboot"

Just to clarify, I'm not suspicious of the reviews themselves being positive -- I'm suspicious of the reviewers.

But here are my reasons why FF will tank

1. The director has no respect for the source material or the fans. And even told Kate Mara not to read the the comics because his story wasn't based on anything previously written.

Months later he would say it was based on the "Ultimate Universe" version.

2. Miles Teller said it wasn't a movie for the fans and then changed his comments a week later.

3. Michael B Jordan basically referred to the fans has internet trolls

4. Fox places review embargo on the movie until the day before its released

Speculative comment: Fox probably did this to protect advance ticket sales

5. Amazing Spider Man PROVED reboots with another origin don't work and ASM made more money than the previous 2 FF movies combined.

6. It took Fox 14 years to make an X-Men movie that could pass 500 Mil worldwide, Sony and Marvel did it with their first movie's (Spider Man & Iron Man)

Speculative comment: The overseas posters for X-men dofp had a prominent MARVEL logo at the top, While the fox logo was almost obscured, Which could have lead the casual fan to believe it was a Marvel production

7. FANS want to see the FF in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where the characters can be done justice and better stories can be told

Well there you have it, My 2 cents. Now of course if FF tears apart the BO I will post an apology
1- bullshit, it applies to about 75% of CBM directors, actors, etc;

2- fans flung shit at the movie since the start, I wouldn't be surprised if he took them at face value instead of recognizing them as marvel studios fanboys;

3- considering certain comment I've read around the 'net I don't blame him;

4- which someone said happened even with those crappy Batman movies that bombed so hard ;

5- I'm not sure I'm following you...

6- overseas people don't care about that, few people read comics, but many remember the X-men cartoon from the 90s;

7- we have to see how many of the people who go see CBMs are FANS that drink every idiocy about the director and cast on the internet.

I don't know why people care so much about getting FF into the MCU. They already have more than enough heroes to work with, FF would be unnecessary fan service.

The ONLY benefit would be some of the villains that come along with them, but there's no guarantee that Marvel Studios couldn't get some of those back anyways, even without the FF, since licensing is done per-character. Silver Surfer and Galactus may well default back to Marvel anyways if Fox doesn't use them in a FF sequel.

Uh, what? Is Fox that powerful to make people feel like they have to say something nice about a movie even if it doesn't deserve it? I would speak my mind plainly no matter what. Again, I'm not hoping for a fail and I would like it to surpass expectations. I guess I'll find out next week.

Exactly but people like to spin it as people just being against any positives in general.

Usually with these early screenings for the press/bloggers they almost always tend to gush over movies. This happens with most summer blockbuster films including Marvel Studios as well as X-men films. A bit of it is coming off that excitement from the invite to see a movie before just about everyone else and they are posting right away without using logic and better judgement.

If I actually get curious about reviews I wait until a number of Top critics post theirs on Rottentomatoes.

I agree. I'm baffled at Marvel Studio fans who want the X-men to revert back. As a big MS fan as well as a fan of most of the Fox-Men films I think they should stay where they are. They're a big money maker and I don't want MS pushing other more interesting or unique projects like Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange back for a new X film.

When it comes down to it, I only wish Marvel could get the rights back to those two you mentioned. Infinity War just won't be the same or as epic as it could be without Silver Surfer and Galactus.

Critics aside, people are way more likely to say they liked a film when they get a free screening. Make them spend $10 and many would change their tune.

$$$$$$$ = influence

A limited screening with some positive word of mouth will help stir up interest and curiosity enough to get paying people in theater seats opening weekend. When a movie is in jeopardy of losing ticket buyers, I think it's possible for a studio to pay off people at a limited screening to spread that positive word, despite possibly being false.

Tons of people on those posts are giving 90 out 100, 85 out of 100, 95 out of 100, 99 out of 100, etc.

Who the F rates movies on a 100 point scale?

People who specifically asked to rate it on a 100 point scale that's who.

Also person after person after person are saying, "I would definitely pay to see it again!"

Why are these people all blurting out that same thing.....?

because they are being asked by the folks who gave them the free buffet, who asked for their twitter and facebook account names, who gave them a free movie and the chance to see the actors in person......

"WOULD YOU PAY TO SEE THIS MOVIE AGAIN?"
"HOW WOULD YOU RATE IT ON A SCALE OF 1 TO A 100?"

Their posts are being monitored and if they go on facebook and Twitter and say the movie is Sh*t---they aren't going to be invited to any more
premieres.............

These are NOT unbiased reviews.

You ask folks to rate a movie on a scale of 100 and you are far more likely to get 80+ numbers---equivalent to minimum 4 star out of 5 reviews.

If you ask to rate on a five point scale you risk folks saying, "3 stars".

Hardly anybody (in that situation) is going to say "60 out of 100"

For the past year every negative rumor posted anywhere on the net has been treated like it came from a burning bush.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a superhero film get surrounded by this much controversy before. It seems like half the internet is looking at this film as some sort of personal insult made only to piss them off. So much anger and hatred over a simple summer film. It really is rather sad...

Please...

Also, most of those "rumors" were confirmed in interviews and tweets from some of the crew. Like when Kinberg's lying ass said it was a "few days" of reshoots to fix Trank's mess, according to some of the crew and 2nd unit those few days were really a good month to two months.

Are there people out there that are going to write off all or most of the positive reviews? Of course there will be some but as usual with this site exaggerations are being thrown around big time.
