Indy is like Bond, the adventure continues in spite of the actor.

Pretty sure Shia LaBeouf kills Indy in this one.

Spielberg has said that he needs Lucas to provide the story for every Indiana Jones film. Will Lucas do one last favor for his old friend? I would love for him to do it, and get Lawrence Kasdan to write the full screenplay.

I *think* Paramount were a touch more shrewd than Fox when negotiating the distribution rights for Indy, AFAIK the current 4 movies are Paramount's to release in perpetuity on behalf of Lucasfilm Ltd., but the rights to using the character and thus making new movies etc lie with LFL/Disney. In reference to the posts above ^ I highly doubt there'll be a Disney logo in front of the new movie though, it'll just have the LFL logo like Force Awakens did.

Yup. I've warmed to Crystal Skull (Christ, it's been almost 10 years already!) as it's still got some sense of that old-fashioned knockabout charm, but when it's stupid it's REALLY ****ing stupid. If Señor Spielbergo can tone down the outright goofyness for Indy V then I'm game.

I disagree. It's really bad even overlooking the hype. It's mostly dull, you roll your eyes multiple times, the wit and charm is way off target, and the action was like Spielberg trying to do Peter Jackson action with way too much stuff happening in every frame with little focus. It was mostly forgettable until the last half hour or so when it becomes nauseating.

As far as this next movie, it's whatever at this point. All these reboots, sequels, and disappointments have clearly left me jaded.

There are plenty of new characters around. I want more Indy, and so do other people. You are welcome to not watch, though you will.

I want more Indy too but Harrison Ford will be 76 when the next one comes around how will Spielberg deal with that.

IMO, enough already. Crystal Skull was bad and now with Ford even older, how can you expect anything resembling the first three.
What will it be called? How about, "Indiana Jones and the Quest for Viagra".

If INDY V set in the 60s... and logically speaking it would be... then perhaps Indy could come out of retirement to solve the Kennedy assassination or beat the tar out of some hippies...?

Looking forward to this but the old fart jokes are still funny and will continue for the next three years. Spielberg plus Ford minus Lucas makes me really excited.

I want Indy V to start with Indy on the phone with Mutt, checking up on how he is doing in school, making sure he is finishing college.
Then I want Jones to team up with Tarzan in the jungle, where they swing on the vines together, yelling the Tarzan-yell to their hearts content, so Spielberg can get that shit out of his frikkin' system!

Doubtful. Lucas has moved on, and so has the series.

count me in for Indy 5. Since Raiders & Last Crusade dealt with religious artifacts it would be a safe bet to have Indy go after something along those lines again. But what ever Mcguffin is used, hopefully it will be back to basics and not turn out like KOTCS.

I understand that.
My point is that every single film up to this point has had the paramount mountain fading into something else.

There's no reason Indy 5 cannot be great.

Just don't hire David Koepp to write the screenplay again.

Pratt didn't pass on Indy. They never offered it to him in the first place. It's long been known that part of Harrison's Star Wars co tract was Indy 5, so of course he's returning.
