Arrow Indiana Jones 5

Quote:
Even at almost 67-years-old, he can still kick some Nazi ass. The Insider (via SlashFilm) is reporting that Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as Indiana Jones for the fifth installment of the franchise. They don't have much else to add, except that it'll supposedly start shooting next year, sometime in 2010, for release in 2011. "Harrison has kept himself in good shape and could still do a lot of the stunts in the last film," their source says. Back in June, Shia LaBeouf let slip that Steven Spielberg is already gearing up for Indiana Jones 5, so this isn't the first time we've heard of this, but it is the first we've heard about Ford.

I wouldn't take this report as official confirmation, but I doubt that Spielberg would want to make another Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford anyway. I think everyone believed that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was setting up LaBeouf to take over the reigns so that Ford could retire once and for all, but I think even Spielberg knows how big of a mistake that would be. I'm glad he's back - they really can't make an Indiana Jones movie without him. After LaBeouf spilled the beans, I wrote about how Indiana Jones 5 wasn't as far along as everyone thought - but 2011 actually seems doable. Now they just need a better script this time!
Click the pic to head over to the original article if you want to follow the links to the older stories. Here's what the original Insider had to say:

Quote:
Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as the legendary explorer - despite being almost 70.

Harrison, who turns 67 later on this month, will play the role of Indy in the fifth film in the series and it is claimed it will be his last performance as the adventurer.

It is claimed filming will not start until next year, and it will not be released before 2011, when the star will be 69.

A source said: “Harrison has kept himself in good shape and could still do a lot of the stunts in the last film.”

The source added: “But it’s obviously not going to get any easier the older he gets. He certainly would never have imagined playing Indiana Jones when he was nearing 70!"

Yes!
Sounds like it is getting under-way. I didn't think he was too old for the previous film... just older than before.

Thanks for the post!

Why even make a fifth movie when the fourth was disgustingly bad?!

Because it made tons of money and I'm sure they had fun making it.

And maybe they don't want to leave the character on a sour note.

I thought IV wasn't too bad, I rank it as 3rd best. I could watch Indy yell at the TV for 2 hours and be happy

It only took two replies to start the Indy IV hate.

I'm down for a fifth.

I watched IV again last night. I rank it 3rd out of the 4th. I actually enjoyed it as I've watched it numerous times now. Temple of Doom....that one I just can't seem to get into. The first one....when they open the ark...the cgi is going to look terrible and incredibly fake when it is on blu-ray. Something about the computer effects there....ruins the first one for me a bit. I think the 4th one is fitting in the series and temple of doom is just the odd one imo. Bring on the 5th.

You'll be right there in the theater if/when Indy 5 is released. I'll save you a seat.

Not if Shia's in it, his character was one of the main reasons I didn't like IV.

I know there is a lot of hate for Indy IV but that is only because we love Indiana. I think they still have it in them to make a good film. I happened to like Shia's character and I normally don't like kid sidekicks (I'm looking at you short round).

This is one of those ideas of just because something makes money doesn't mean they have to make more. At least they can only go uphill after this last one.

I figure there will be another South Park episode depicting Indiana being raped by Lucas and Spielberg, perhaps in more "creative" ways.

Dude looked like he was in his early fifties in KOTCS. He'll be fine for another go round. All the haters will be watching it that opening weekend like the rest of us.
