That would be Vangelis Academy Award winning score.

Hmm, Casualties of War, I think the music was made by Ennio Morricone.

John Williams was great with Star Wars and Jurassic Park. I really loved Steve Jablonski's score in Transformers too. The all strings portion that is played when the autobots come down in the asteroids is one of my favs

I really enjoyed Craig Armstrong's score for The Incredible Hulk. I remember leaving the theatre the 1st time I saw it and thinking how good the music was.

Definately agree with a lot mentioned so far such as:

Indiana Jones films
Star Wars films
Lord of the Rings films
Jaws
Halloween (lost count how many times I've watched this, but the intro with the soundtrack and the lit pumpkin still gives me the creeps)
The Thing (one of the few soundtracks I can listen to separate from the film)
Superman (the intro sequence combined with the great score still moves me)

Also;
Midnight Express
The Candyman

and soundtracks to other material;
Philip Glass's score to Koyaaniqatsi and Powaqqatsi (Blu-ray release PLEASE!)
Heroes TV series

if anyone here is a superman fan, the recently released 8 disc set of all the superman movie/tv show music is exceptional. all songs have been remastered and some were never released before at all. great compilation!

In no particular order:

Blade Runner
Lolita (the remake, score by Ennio Morricone)
There Will Be Blood
Amelie
Requiem for a Dream
eXistenZ

I'm probably leaving out many, I'm a fan of movie scores in general, but the above represent scores I was compelled to buy on CD.

I think the Superman theme is probably one of the best ever, you listen to it and it's Superman, you can't help but imagine Superman flying on that music. You can even hear the insturment say SUPERMAN in music. John Williams is a genius of music in my view

Yep Look Up In The Sky......documentary. I know he said that, really funny. I had notice this a long time ago listening to it. I never was able to see a quote from Williams if that was done on purpose or it just one of those things that get's done and you realize afterwards "wow that is amazing"
