I am happy they are putting some old catalog out so people can buy these at affordable prices instead of paying $60 for stuff like Waynes World.
I think the most frustrating thing about it is they refuse to sublicense out these films to labels like SF and such. I mean if they're not going to release the films then at least let someone else do it.

Oh, no Snake Eyes on the list. I've just discovered that (it was on TV) & I'd like to buy the Blu-ray.

I'd like to get a Wayne's World double feature, but for some reason Paramount seem to be against that idea (yet they're happy to pair up unrelated films).

Good they are re-releasing so many after the Warner deal ended. With the state of catalog releases I thought they might just let them mostly go OOP.

Bet some folks are feeling like fools now for dishing out $30-40 on titles like Team America during the nervous oop frenzy.

Exactly. Meanwhile, no King Kong 76, Prophecy, The Keep, Silver Bullet, Dead Zone, Looking For Mr. Goodbar, The War of the Worlds 1953, When Worlds Collide, Orca, nada.

I bought up a ton, but they were all $10 except one (Presidio) so not regret here. Some still might slip through the cracks, and they were cheap anyway.

I'm still surprised Paramount hasn't released King Kong 1976, especially after the success and box office haul of Kong: Skull Island.

And whatever happened to The Core? There was a release date, then pulled at the 11th hour.

Frankly I think the '76 Kong is the best one

Yeah, that's the source of frustration for everyone. They're basically holding the more well known movies in their catalog hostage. They won't release them and they won't strike a deal for anyone else to release them, either.

But, if you want some obscure movie that never made it to DVD in the first place, Kino's got your back. Meanwhile, Oscar winning films are sitting in the vault.

This is how I view it as well. It's good to see Paramount taking any steps toward fulfilling their back catalog on disc. It starts with this: a batch of already authored discs getting put back in front of the public. Many of which, as you say, could easily have fallen by the wayside.

Along with the Juice release, the Star Trek II remaster... they have my support and encouragement.

Keep it up!

How old fashioned. I like my media consumption to be dictated by how long a streaming service has the rights and whether a cable provider wants to throttle bandwidth.

Saying "streaming" on a Blu-ray forum is like advising people on a Corvette forum that they really should lease a Prius.
