Sounds like an upconvert from a video source, disappointing that that's all they were given.

Well I pre-ordered this and La Setta...

May cancel this one though. I only have one release from Happinet which is NoTLD. I was pleased enough with that one, but this doesn't sound very promising.

Did you actually receive this? Or are you just assuming?

Damn. That's a shame. Was hoping I could get around buying the Code Red release that's impending.

Sorry, I don't have a Blu Ray drive anymore. It's one of those Japanese transfers with very washed out blacks that you have to change the HDMI output on yor player to get them correct. I also noticed some very jerky movement when I watched it in full (like a good old fashioned PAL to NTSC transfer), unless this was introduced by changing the HDMI output on my player to fix the black levels.

Nope, I checked it without adjustments, the jerkiness is inherant on the disc. Probably as a result of upscaling the SD digibeta mater to HD. I've seen upscales before, but none with any motion problems like this.

That's a shame. Here is hoping that Code Red creates a better release.

Michele Soavi's 'The Church' (La Chiesa) coming from Code Red

It looks like Shameless Films in the UK will be releasing it as well.

so i watched this last night. I didnt see any of the complaints above. The picture is soft but there was no artifacting or jerkiness anywhere. Much better than the DVD. the lack of black crush makes me question where they got such a good SD source

That's odd, maybe it's just my copy.

Tried it on another player/TV and still have the problem. When stepping through the frames, the fourth one is repeated which causes jerky movement in tracking shots. The Happinet logo has no motion problems so it's just the film itself.

Once the Shameless disc is out, providing it is proper HD, I'll replace it.

I have no problems with The Sect Blu Ray so this is a bit of a puzzle.

Could it be a PAL to NTSC problem from the SD source blown up to HD?
