A rental first, then I will go from there. Kidman is a fantastic actress, and yes pretty hot too.

Australia is one of the most underrated films of the year, it's a great film that I cannot wait to add to my Blu-ray library.
Im not saying her comments weren't taken out of context to some extent...i actually have no idea. but how do these quotes not stand on their own as proof of her discontent with the movie...

"I can't look at this movie and be proud of what I've done. I sat there, and I looked at Keith and went, 'Am I any good in this movie?"
"But I thought Brandon Walters and Hugh Jackman were wonderful. It's just impossible for me to connect to it emotionally at all."

you probably know a lot more about this kind of stuff than i do..so please tell me if these quotes are inncorrect.

Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has hit back at reports she is unhappy with her performance in new movie Australia - insisting her comments have been misinterpreted by the media.

The star appears opposite Hugh Jackman in the Baz Luhrmann epic, which opened last month to mixed reviews.

Kidman was recently quoted as saying that she "can't look at this movie and be proud of what I've done", adding that she couldn't "connect to it emotionally".

But the actress is adamant her comments, in an interview with Sydney radio station 2day FM, were taken out of context - because she was actually referring to her whole body of work, claiming she can never bear to watch herself onscreen.

A representative for Kidman tells Australian newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald, "It is quite ridiculous for anyone to believe the reports if they listened to the actual interview. It's hard to believe some of the world's media have fallen for it."

ok fair enough. but i wouldn't rule out the fact that she just regrets letting that out on the air

It is a chick flick.

Far and Away + Crocodile Dundee + Gone with the Wind + Pearl Harbor = Australia

Terrible movie. Wife hated it (except Hugh Jackman's bare torso). Enough said.

Except the bombing scene in Australia was 5 minutes long. Compared to Pearl Harbors kickass 45 minutes. Come on how they make a movie about the Darwin bombing which had more bombs dropped on then Pearl Harbor and have a short ass bombing scene.

Apart from that, Baz Luhrmann has the gall to say this is a movie about the 'stolen generation' when that topic is only a subplot.

There is a good movie on that episode of Aussie history, but it is defnitely not this movie. Do yourselves a favo(u)r and put Rabbit-Proof Fence on your Netflix queue instead.

A rental for me as I've heard mixed opinions from friends who saw it. We'll see if I can get through the whole thing.

At DVD Empire, I noticed on the back of the packaging, under special features, it says "Disc One" -- but there's no mention of a second disc. Is this one disc, or two? Thanks.

Funnily, it didn't get long, because there were half a dozen sub-stories one after the other. At times it felt like watching chapters of a mini-series
