What a fun movie. Had been too long since I watched it. Looked great and sounded great. Not reference material but still a fun watch.

I doubt I will notice it nor will I care even if I do manage to notice. I never noticed the green tint issue in the original blu-ray box set. I don't even know what it looked at the movies. he**, I can't even remember going to the movies to see this. Though I'm sure I did. I can't remember stuff like that from that far back. Geez, it's been 19 years.

Just finished this and it was absolutely stunning. Hands down the best 4k presentation I own. The picture quality was outstanding and the green IS all over the place. The audio was equally outstanding.

Very impressed with this transfer and the Atmos mix is great!

Heh, the green being all over the place could be symbolic of the Matrix glitching out and not being a perfect representation of reality. From a certain point of view.

I also noticed some of the issues regarding the blue/teal color coming up between cypher and neo (I think that's where it is) and I don't believe it has to do with the transfer per se. I think that it is inherent of the effects in the movie, as I noticed it when they fired that gun on the ship and elsewhere in the matrix as well. I think those particular effects were not top notch (they looked like something you might see on a television sitcom from back in the day) and the transfer/4k UHD format is just making it that much more obvious.

I also noticed how the green was much more present than on the blu-ray collection from 10 years ago. At least that's what I thought. I haven't watched The Matrix on Blu-ray in such a long time, but I don't clearly remember it being this green. This was as green, if not greener than the sequels were. It was a touch distracting, but nothing I hated at all. It's inherent of the original intent/how it looked or was to look. All in all, I would rate this an overall 10. Warner is moving up on my list of top studios.

I don't mind the extra green, although I'm pretty certain it's a product of showing off UHD and makes the subtle green too vivid, IMO. What I don't like the cyan/teal colors during the Morpheus rescue, etc. where they don't belong (hovercraft blue is ok). I'd rather the walls be grey like the DVD if they're not going to use the green tint. I liked the real world blue tints. It's just some of the Matrix scenes I disagree with. I'm sure the average viewer won't care.

I didn't notice any of that during the Morpheus rescue. I saw lots and lots green. It was odd, as I never paid any mind nor knew about the green tint in the movies on Blu-ray. However, here I could tell there was a lot more of green. It could be my television set, as I don't have it calibrated (don't have that kind of money). Though I don't believe it is, as I haven't noticed anything different with Dobly Vision coloring on any other movies. My television is (and I assume) fairly top of the line for the most part. I hope anyway.

I still say this is a solid but flawed video presentation. What bites me more is going into Best Buy and seeing the four movie Blu-ray set (all three films plus The Animatrix) for $9.99. That’s $2.50 a movie! So a bit of a markup for the 4K I’d say.

I agree - I have 2 Sony players hooked up (1 region free blu, 1 4K blu) and I was able to compare the regular blu vs the 4K blu by clicking inputs back and forth.
IMHO the Morpheus rescue looks much better on the 4K, especially the helicopter crash and explosion - it looks like a green/gray mess on the blu, much more resolved and natural looking on the 4K - again, just my opinion based on my t.v. and my eyesight

Yes but 4K comes with Atmos, elevation.

Lol. Probably not the comparison I’d make but funny none the less.

Worth every penny to me. The new grade may have its quirks but it's still a stunner.

When The Matrix was released on BD (in a digibook format) in 2009 the list price was $27.99. I don't recall the street price, but probably around $19.99? And we're talking 2009 dollars, of course.

I think being a relatively new niche physical format, $21.99 to $24.95 was a reasonable street price for this movie especially considering the code could have been sold for $8+. $14.00 is all one had to pay if done right. And the UHD BD looks FAR better than the DVD and BD in every area including color.
