I was wondering the same thing. I mean, it only lasted 2 years, how good could it have been?

It had a lot of influence...and definitely is a good animated show. Definitely top 25 in my opinion...probably not top 10.

Cowboy Bebop is a much better anime than Evangelion though...everything from story to music was amazing. And it was only 26 episodes like most anime story arcs

The Simpsons is good but doesn't deserve a top spot.

Neon Genesis next to Akira is probably the most popular Japanese animated series ever made. It will also blow your mind if you watch the whole thing! You can't make an animation list and ignore Japan.

However, this list sucks. It mostly comes off as a "personal favorites" list by some guy at IGN. It lacks any real critical value. There is also no Johnny Quest in the top 40..

I didn't go through all 100; a page for each show was just too long to wait for and go through, but I did hit up several. I didn't see anything in the write up on that site as to how they (the editors) determined why a cartoon was given it's placement. Seems like some of the old classics should have been further up the list, but that is just my opinion, of course. Many I haven't even heard of, but it has been awhile since I've watched tv with any regularity.

wow, way to go with The Simpson's in it's 20th season.

God, I hate Beavis & Butthead. Also, I'm looking forward to the day when the Japanese anime fad is over and done with, because I just can't take it anymore. I mean how is Ducktales, G.I. Joe, The Real Ghostbusters, Transformers, and Muppet Babies behind Neon Genesis Evangelion whatever the f' that is.

... and don't get me wrong, I'm no Scooby Doo fan, but there is no way that it should not be ranked in the top 15 cartoons of all-time.

... and I think Looney Tunes should be #1, but I don't have a real problem with The Simpsons being there. And I love the Batman:TAS ranking, even though it should probably be a little lower.

I definitely think Simpsons deserve number 1 they are not only the longest running animated series of all time but is the longest running primtime show ever.

I would have thought X-Men would be in the top 10.
