how obvious is the difference of 60 and 120 to the average user? is it worth the like 2-300$ difference?

The best way to really judge the differences for yourself is to actually go to a store, find someone knowledgeable there, and see a demonstration of the differences. Keep in mind that the screen's refresh rate, whether 60Hz or 120Hz, is a fixed operation of the TV, and has nothing to do with the "motion enhancing" (video interpolation) settings. You should be able to see the difference readily between a 60Hz set and 120Hz set with its motion enhancing software running. There is a plethora of threads on the subject of 120Hz refresh rates in these forums. Do a search on "120Hz" and read as much as you can. Be informed when you go out to have a look at some TVs. Lastly, in the case of a lot of LCDs with 120Hz refesh rates, you usually will get a few other additional TV features for your extra money spent as well. |

^^ What Rob J said above. I have a 120Hz only(no frame interpolation) set and i really dont see a difference between them. 120Hz is to combat motion blur, but if you've been watching 60Hz your whole life, you probably dont even notice motion blur anyway. If you're one of those people that can notice motion blur like a sore thumb, then go 120Hz

might as well go 120hz, so far its that tv, i wish i could get it for around the same price at a store, then Id be able to just go pick it up, but ordering online is ok. after i order (whenever my tax return comes in, filing tonight, so hopefully soon) need to figure out what i want to watch for my first bluray on a huge tv upgrade, for reference, this is the POS im using now: http://salestores.com/konkakdl.html
thing sucks so bad, but i got it cheap forever ago, had it about 2 or 3 years, only has 1 hdmi, and the vga input on it refuses to do any widescreen res lol. |
