Got it. Thanks for clearing it up for me!

I got all my individual releases (minus TFA, TLJ, TROS and Solo) yesterday from BB via curbside pickup. Pretty easy process and all of the releases came with slipcovers that were in great condition.

I'm glad I cancelled my online orders w/ Amazon and Bullmoose bc I'm not sure how well those Disney slips would have held up in poor packaging.

Boy, those disc pockets in the Saga box are kinda tight, huh? And only a few light scratches on Eps 1 and 9. I put all nine UHDs in individual disc envelopes and put those in the box under the book, for easy access. It fits snugly. I'll stream the extras whenever I want to watch those.

An excellent idea. Now I just need to find an old CD. I don't collect CD's!

I'm a long time visitor to this site but this is my first time posting because I'm at a loss and wondering if anybody else is finding the same issue. I got the Best Buy exclusive box set with the new UHDs and as I've been going through them I've noticed that they are all very dark and washed out. I know Disney has had this issue before (my Coco disc for instance) but this seems extra bad. When I look at my digital copies in Dolby Vision, they look great. When I look at the SD blu-ray, looks great. When I look at my older 4K Dolby Vision copy of Last Jedi, looks great. When I watch other HDR10 discs I own, looks great. When I check out the new 4K UHD discs in HDR10, dark, washed out and lacking color definition.

I'm guessing this is a metadata issue or something? Something along the line is getting flagged incorrectly? Is this just me?

My setup is an Oppo 203 UHD player, Denon AVR-S920W Receiver, LG OLED E6 television. I use the Spears and Munsil UHD Benchmark disc to calibrate 709 and HDR. Thanks everybody!
I posted this in the Empire thread when someone else asked why the discs were so much darker compared to the streams:

So I ordered individual copies from Disney Movie Club (my first ever order with them) and the shipping information has not changed in 5 days. Is this typical of DMC orders? My introductory movies shipped the same day and arrived yesterday so I wasn't sure.

Thanks!

Usually items ship in 1-2 days.

I ordered mine a couple days ago with no ship yet either... it's Star Wars. They are just busy.

Well, I decided to modify this set.

First, I took out the 9 4K discs and placed them into another my old 2011 BD box set. Afterwards, I added the 3 bonus discs from the Prequels DVDs, the 3 Limited Edition, non-anamorphic DVD discs of the Originals so I can at least say the set comes with the theatrical cuts of the original films. For the final 3 slots in the box set, I added the bonus DVD disc from the 2004 Original Trilogy DVD box set, the 3rd bonus disc from the 2011 BD box set, and the “Musical Journey” DVD that came with the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack back in 2005.

And by doing all of this, I was able to condense all my Star Wars physical media into one, comprehensive Star Wars box set.

I’m not proud of this but I am satisfied.

Was there a website somewhere I saw in prior pages that outlined the bonus features that are missing between the 2020 re-releases and the 2011 blu-ray set? Just wondering if I need to keep the 2011 book set bonus discs. The main thing I'll ever watch in there is the boba fett cartoon. and I"m sure that's not on the new discs, but is there a bunch else that's missing?

Both looked similarly dark to me. I know my LG TV will change settings depending on the HDR mode. Any chance you have your Dolby Vision settings a bit brighter or have that dynamic contrast thing turned on?
My Dolby Vision setting definitely doesn't have dynamic contrast turned on. Really my DV setting doesn't have anything custom set except I have to turn TruMotion on custom and set it to 0 in order to turn it off because otherwise it defaults to some form of motion smoothing for some ungodly reason. But I have very few settings tweaked on DV because from what I understand the "calibration" is done in the metadata of the content. That doesn't really explain why forcing DV from the Oppo helps in this specific instance but it definitely does and still maintains contrast. You are correct that the LG TV changes settings based on the HDR type. My HDR10 setting seems correct otherwise based on the Spears and Munsil disc and when I play other content in HDR10.

To be sure, like you said these transfers are more subdued and more natural anyway but what I was getting from keeping it in HDR10 was definitely wrong. Daytime scenes didn't even look like daytime. But forcing the Oppo into Dolby Vision output conversion seemed to fix it and brought it in line with what I was seeing on my iTunes Dolby Vision copy and what I saw on Disney Plus, just with more detail on the UHD. It's just weird although like I said before, I remember seeing this issue with my Coco disc and that was the first time I noticed this from a Disney release.

Thanks for the reply. I should clarify -- my set was actually shipped but has been at a facility in MI for 5 days with no update, that's why I wasn't sure. Hopefully it's just due to them being swamped. I know everyone is working hard right now.

Okay here goes. (Keep in mind I have watched between 130-150 Ultra HD movies)
Also keep in mind, your tastes might vary from mine. I love grain on old movies. Give me ALL the grain...

I've now watched 1-6 on 4K. Mine arrived Monday morning.

Phantom Menace - yeah yeah everyone hates the movie. Truth is yes the CG has not aged well in most cases. But this is the best the movie has and will ever look. I think it is more of a problem of my setup (75” x900f with xbox one x) but the hdr made it look dark. Certain scenes looked very theatrical but overall it looked flat. But again, you will never see a better release of this movie. And I’ve owned/seen them ALL.

Attack of the clones - (honest reveal - I skipped the 4 painful scenes between anakin and padme). Mostly everything I said about Phantom applies here. Overall the best it has ever looked. And the CG is far less painful and noticeable then in Ep I.

Both certainly look better than what Disney+ offers through streaming. I would give both movies between 6.5-7.0 for PQ/4K/Detail. That is compared to the best UHD has to offer. I’ve seen worse and certainly seen better. But I did happen to notice lots of details and colors I never have seen in the 200-300 viewings on blu-ray/HD Broadcast/Disney+ viewings.

Revenge of the Sith - The obvious strongest movie of the prequel trilogy also has the best 4K transfer. This is still not quite demo material you would show off to a friend. But it is a worthy upgrade from the 4K, and does not have the DNR and has a more consistent transfer. There are a few scenes that jumped out but overall was a solid 7.5/7.75 out of 10. Again, better than the previous two, but was not exceptionally impressive.

New Hope - A solid transfer of a film from the 70's. I do not think this is a top tier catalogue release, but it is the best this movie has looked. I noticed details after 100 viewings I had never seen look that clearly. But I was still looking/hoping for a little bit more. I'd give it a 7.5/7.75 similarly to Revenge of the Sith. They have a different look to them, but both are good decent transfers, not not greatness.

Empire Strikes Back - After reading on here that people were disappointed in this release of the Original Trilogy, after viewing last night I can say it was just as good as New Hope. Solid clear transfer of a very old film. It is not jaw dropping, but it is not disappointing either. Maybe a little soft at times...

Return of the Jedi - Probably my favorite 4K disc of the 6 films. Someone previously said that it had an almost 3D look to it and I think I see what they mean. The colors seemed more vibrant and detail looked a tad sharper than the others. I think this will fall short of being demo worth, and will probably not be on anyone's top 10 discs to showcase, but it is a worthy upgrade if you owned the blu-rays. I'd give it an 8/10.

I watched all of them on a 75" x900F Sony through the xbox one x (not the best player), in a semi dark room.

I'm curious to try Rogue One and Rise of the Skywalker as I heard they are both very impressive.

Is anyone here getting rid of their packaging or know of a thread on here where people may be selling pieces from this set?(rather than ebay) I'm getting the regular blu-ray set from Amazon UK but, as a Star Wars collector, I would like to purchase the box and art book from this set.

I suspect BB is considered essential bc they sell things like stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, which perhaps you might find essential if yours breaks and it cannot be repaired or you can't find someone to repair it.

Anyway, I haven't opened my set yet. But curious if you can leave the j-card glued on and still separate the box to access the book/discs? I can live with the j-card and probably prefer it to a large glue stain...
