How is the Atmos audio on the 4K discs? Do they seem to have the usual lowered Disney volume?

It would depend on the strain though. I've read there are at least 40 different strains of the virus. You have immunity to the type(s) you were infected with, but perhaps you would get sick again from a different strain. It's the same thing with the flu. The influenza virus mutates a lot and the flu shot is based off the most common strains of the previous year, yet people still get the flu the current year due to getting infected with different strains. Good to hear your experience wasn't too bad though. To keep this post on topic though... I'm fine with midichlorians.

For those who are wondering about shelf space, the box is exactly the same height (placed on its side) as two Blu-ray cases.

The edges are rounded.

Mine too. You’d hope for once that Best Buy would actually ship in some degree of protection for a $250 item. Oh well...

I kind of think ROTJ looks the best of the new transfers for Episode 4-6. Almost has a 3D look to it.

Sometimes I like the look of the 2004/2011 colours. Other times the 2019 4K version lol.

Default Skywalker Saga HDR10 Problem

I posted this in the New Hope thread but then realized there was a box set thread so I'm reposting here. Sorry for the repost.

I'm a long time visitor to this site but this is my first time posting because I'm at a loss and wondering if anybody else is finding the same issue. I got the Best Buy exclusive box set with the new UHDs and as I've been going through them I've noticed that they are all very dark and washed out. I know Disney has had this issue before (my Coco disc for instance) but this seems extra bad. When I look at my digital copies in Dolby Vision, they look great. When I look at the SD blu-ray, looks great. When I look at my older 4K Dolby Vision copy of Last Jedi, looks great. When I watch other HDR10 discs I own, looks great. When I check out the new 4K UHD discs in HDR10, dark, washed out and lacking color definition.

I'm guessing this is a metadata issue or something? Something along the line is getting flagged incorrectly? Is this just me?

My setup is an Oppo 203 UHD player, Denon AVR-S920W Receiver, LG OLED E6 television. I use the Spears and Munsil UHD Benchmark disc to calibrate 709 and HDR. Thanks everybody!

Well, the new transfers are a bit darker and more subdued than the old transfers which were a bit over cooked in terms of colors and brightness/contrast.

Though I haven't compared the HDR10 discs and the Dolby Vision digital versions yet.

Didnt realize this had its own thread. Anyone else watch the rise of skywalker 4k disc yet from the best buy set and have skipping issues where rey and crew get to the crashed deathstar planet about halfway through? I checked the disc and it looks fine, tried to reload the disc and still had the same skipping issues. It clears up after this scene and is fine but for some reason this scene.

The detail is amazing, especially on the original trilogy. The prequel stuff is tough because of the upscaling and whatnot. It's really just the brightness/contrast. It's just different from everything I own. It's like imagine the whole "Disney movies are too quiet" thing but for brightness contrast. I agree the older transfers were more candy-coated and these don't have that problem and look more realistic. I'm just not sure what along the line in my system is making it so dark. All the digital Dolby Vision ones look great to me, though there's a loss in detail from the discs.

Have you tried using the forced Dolby Vision mode on the oppo 203? I find it plays nicer unless you have a professionally calibrated picture for HDR 10.
