I honestly would like to imagine a world without slipcovers, that's the one aspect of physical media collecting I just don't and will never get.

Nice it's getting a release. Probably March/April physical releases.

My guess is 30th March in the US and Canada and probably 12th April here in the UK however they still haven't really given an update on how us in the UK will be getting to see it. No HBOmax and our lockdown looks set to extend to January. Hoping they do a deal or something with Amazon. As for slipcovers I can't imagine a world without them. Makes my collection look uniformed

My workplace has pushed the re-opening of our offices until August 2021 -- I'm fortunate enough to be able to work remotely -- so I have no intention to sit in a theater, especially when infection rates are increasing daily in MA. So I was thrilled to find out WW was premiering on HBO Max, which I get free with my AT&T cell plan.

I don't think Disney will. Warner has 2 major reasons to put this on HBO Max: to get all those users still on the regular HBO app to move over and to get Roku to finally sign a deal.

Hopefully they will have sold enough GOT sets by Christmas to be ready to flip the 4K switch.

I always get rid of mine too. If I see one at the store that doesn't have one I usually take it and let someone who does keep them buy one that does. Or if there's one with a damaged one I buy that one.

The only exception for me is for some of the collector's label stuff like Shout Factory, because I like that you get their new commissioned artwork on the slip and you can reverse the inside cover to the original poster art. That's pretty cool.

But for the most part, having a slip, which is just the same exact back and front image, over the regular case is just annoying. Especially taking it off and putting it back on, which for me often results in the slip getting caught on the plastic case and messing it up. Yeah, I just don't get it, haha.

Slipless Woman!
Slipless Woman!

All the Collectors are debating about you,
And the cardboard you once possessed
In your plastic case
Pleading for your case
And the moans from the red faced and blue!

Slipless Woman!
Slipless Woman!

Now the world is ready for you,
And the wonders you can do.
Make the HDR beam
Stop a Collector with a Stream
Make disc based media go poof!

Slipless Woman!
Get us out from under.
Slipless Woman!

All our hopes are pinned upon you,
And the HBO Max that you do.
Stop a Collector cold,
Make the theatrical window fold,
Change their minds,
And change the world!

Slipless Woman!
Slipless Woman!
You're a wonder!
Slipless Woman!

I didn't even think of the Roku situation, but that makes sense.
Additionally, haven't they been a bit cagey about their subscriber numbers? This would probably bring a ton of people to the platform that wouldn't have been interested before, whereas Disney probably doesn't need to worry about drawing too many new subscribers when Disney Plus is as popular as it is.

I'm really tired of waiting for this movie, there is no way in heck I am going to a movie theater anytime in the next year even if it does come out there.

What have you all got against movie theaters? I guess you want them to fail. There's nothing unsafe about a movie theater. I just went last night to AMC to see ELF. There was like 4 people in the theater. All so spaced out that the chances of getting something is like the chances of getting Rosie O'Donnell to join the NRA. I've been supporting business because I want them around when this stupid inanity ends. I even go to my local record store and spend almost twice as much as what I could get for cheaper on Amazon. Why? I don't want record stores to go extent. And I don't want theaters to go extent either. They are as necessary as record stores and breathing. Think about that.

Know anyone who has died of Covid? Are you or any immediate family members in a high-risk group?

Until the answers to at least one of those questions is "yes", you can save your rant.

The irony in the fact that you compare going to a theater to be as important as "breathing" just shows that you have no idea what some people are going through, and no, smart people aren't taking risks right now for things as frivolous as going to a movie theater.

:-) Though I would rather save it for the Snyder Cut. But they would probably drag it out past 14 days.

They only ended the one week free trial that was available to any new subscriber. Best Buy still has the deal for a two week HBO Max trial that comes with qualifying purchases and has to be activated by March 1st next year.
