aside from Brian Sturgeons setup, i rarely post anything or comment on peoples home theater. but when i was surfing around the community page, i find myself very VERY surprised that at least ONE member here had some Dynaudios. AND being CONTOURS TOO!!!

we (my original forum) have drooled over dynaudio focals for a couple of months, and had a GTG auditioning them. im quite jealous your 'just using them as surrounds'...

Great job on that call. Amazing speakers for their money, AND their size of course. Wait till you hear what i have to say about the contours.

Anyways, superb choice of equipment, and an amazing room.

*sigh*... i love Dynaudios... too bad im not single anymore...

Wow! Thanks Jomari! What's the link to your website/forum?
I really wanted the Contour 3.4s and whatever surrounds but the Focus 110s presented themselves when I was buying my system so I never looked back. Dude, the 110s are sooo good(incredible bass and slam) that they deserve to be main speakers in a secondary system that I've been rambling about all these months. If ever you're in Chicago lemme know.

thats kinda like asking for my phone number bud, but its okay, you'd find out somehow...

the focus 110 are actually my dream bookshelves, considering how they sound, both through experience and paper. i dont really care much about the bass (thats why we have subwoofers, but also because i play mostly jazz in my setups), but more important to me was its tremendous detail in the mid-frequencies. This is what is missing in a number of bookshelves/speakers.

the contours are also a piece of work.... i know a couple of my colleagues are in the east coast (actually most of them), so when you're interested, let me know.

If you listen to a lot of jazz music then Dynaudio will do you your record justice. The Focus 110s are extremely musical. It stays true to the recordings without adding coloration hence very neutral and is a tremendous value for the money like you said. When I listen to music withthe contours even the 110s, my sub is off as I find that it only muddies the sound.

Then maybe you'll just have to convince the wife to let you get the 110s. If you dont mind pre-owned or demo(like mine), there's always audiogon.

That's the way this dearler works! I'm so lucky to have him as he gave me full trade in value for the 3.4s The C2s are silky smooth and there's so much information from the tweeters! When I listen to music they just disappear into the back ground as they don't call attention to themselves.

A speaker that sounds like "you are there", no way to describe it until you've heard it. Just pure goodness I am sure.

I just hate when you upgrade one component, the rest start begging for it!

I can't belive you got full value out of them, no one in my area would even want to hear about it.

Congrats on the great pickup! I am sure you will have countless hours of enjoyment from them!

Yeah... Now all the components have to keep up! But this is not a sprint but its a marathon so I'll take my sweet time with the upgrades. Thanks JasonR.

I was just taking a look at your new pics. What's up with the logo on your PS3?
