Any big differences between the Alliance Can release and the USA BD? They look pretty identical in the specs (other than slightly different aspect ratios that are essentially the same)?... I know some times Alliance likes to take a 1080i master...

That is only the case when they go at a blu-ray release on their own.
Since this was released along-side the USA release, I would bet that they are identical. Worst case scenario is that your missing an extra feature (which is what happened on the Wrestler)

The Canadian Blu-ray Disc is the same as the US release, only difference are the bilingual cover and disc art.
