With Clerks being my all time favorite movie, I just had to get this. Anyone else pick it up? PQ is really great.

Already have Clerks 2 on BD, and will wait for a really low price on Clerks before getting it. For now, my DVD will do. For the record, the original Clerks is the far better movie of the two, IMHO...

i prefered clerks 2, i have it on HD-DVD and will pick it up on blu later this month. that movie was funny as sofa king funny!

hay guyz i jus got this bluray dvd and i have a ?. it is n black and white. is there a problem w/ my tv cuz i thot bluray dvds were alll n coler and tis movie doesnt look lik its tat old.

im excited to get this, however BB has it priced at 29.99 and Amazon i believe has it for 23.99... for the quality of the film i will not pay more then 15 bucks for it.. so when it drops ill be all over it

I think it looks just like it did in the theater, except for the white dust left on the projector.

Yeah! What's up with all the grain!!! I'll bet this would have looked awesome on HD-DVD, Blue rays always look suckier because they don't take time to clean the movies up, and make you double dip later! Screw you Sony!!!

The only Kevin Smith movie not yet on Blu is Mallrats.

Jersey Girl isn't out either as far as I know

Yeah, they definitely should have colorized it too. Black and white sucks.

Considering the source material, it's really not that bad. I'd say it's a very good transfer of a source print which, compared to most films, isn't that great.

Me, being a die hard Kevin Smith fanboy, had to buy it the day of release, and I don't regret it.

The releases are scattered across different studios.

Disney has: Clerks, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Jersey Girl

Universal has: Mallrats

The Weinstein Company has: Clerks II, and Zack and Miri

I'm not sure where Dogma lies, since it was produced by Miramax (Disney), distributed to theaters from Lionsgate, but if I recall, the BD release is Sony. I know there's a story behind it, but suffice to say, it doesn't simplify the situation at all. Not to mention where Smith's films are falling for the future.

Good chance you'll never see a big collection of all of them though, not even just the ones in the View Askewniverse. Don't hold back for it, apart from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back lacking special features, every BD so far has been definitive.

PS Smith also has a flick he directed coming called "A Couple of Dicks" distributed by WB!

Dogma is Sony.

Miramax passed on distribution because they were owned by Disney at the time. The theatrical release was through Lionsgate and it finally ended up at Columbia which is now Sony.

As for A Couple of Dicks, Smith is being forced to change the title since the major networks are refusing to air TV spots for it prior to 9pm. Smith said on his Twitter that pre-Janet Jackson scandal, the title would have not been as issue since Dick was promoted on television at all hours in 1999.

Smith was also upset at the way the Weinstein's promoted Zach and Miri, crediting them with the reason why it was such a failure. On one of his older Smodcasts, he admitted that he was dancing for joy when Warner decided to distribute A Couple of Dicks/A Couple of Cops.

Why? By most accounts, the transfer is great..... I'm sure it's rough because of the film stock used, but it can still look great (in comparison to previous releases, and in terms of faithfulness to the theatrical release)

I will certainly add this one to the collection.

i may double dip on both clerks movies, they are my all time fav's....i've had the original in my dvd player in my shop for 2 weeks and everytime i'm down there working, it's turned on.

it never gets old!!!
