![]() I remember thar being flogged as a chief reason why JCarter bombed, because audiences saw it as ironically "derivative" of Star Wars and Avatar. That still doesn't seem like a reason to me as people love, or at least back then still loved, Star Wars and Avatar was a runaway hit. Even if JCarter were derivative of these movies it would still be different enough, and competently made, to slake the thirst for more SW and Avatar? Would this have benefitted from one of those vintage "In a world..." type trailers? That could have gotten everyone up on the premise, without spoiling the plot. Shoot, just marketing it as "The Outlaw Josey Wales...in spaaaaace" seems like it would have crushed the sad ad campaign that the movie had. A Clint Eastwood cameo would have been tight ![]() |
