Ozzie mentions he's gay less often than Leia mentions she finds Jay hot, or Nate mentions he's into Nickie. If you only complain about one, but not the others... it feels far more like a personal bias than anything else.
Either way, finishing this series, I ended up really enjoying it. I thought the new cast did great, especially considering so many of them are only like 15 on average. I really hope we get more. |

I'm only through the second episode. Ozzie right now is by far the most one dimensional character. None of them are as good of characters as we had by this time in That 70's Show.
And why should you be concerned about what I complain about? BTW everyone has biases. It's one of the things that helps us form unique opinions about media. |

People seem to misremember this show more than any it seems. Even through the entire series run, the characters were very cringeworthy. |

Not to mention he would pretend to be into something then the cold facial expressions were great. Ozzie was the BEST of the new Characters. |

I will admit that Leia's fixation with kissing Jake was getting to be too much too. Not enough character depth for any of the new gang in my opinion. I've made it through the 6th episode and hope that she can move on now that [Show spoiler] but I doubt the writers are that talented.I do wish they would have brought on older actors to play the teenagers. It is done all of the time. I don't see the talent being developed in this group. That combined with lack of character depth and poor writing is what contributes to this seeming like a Disney Channel show with a little marijuana use thrown in. |

The kid who plays Ozzie basically played exactly the same sarcastic character in Nickelodeon's Side Hustle (except being a Nic show, they never mentioned his sexuality).
But hey, it's early days, & if it gets a second season there's plenty of time for all of them to grow as characters (& actors). I'm rewatching the first season of the original at the moment &, 18 episodes in, Kelso has precisely one dimension: He's a horny idiot. That's it. I like the original characters more than the new ones, sure, but let's not pretend there was a great deal of depth to them all at the start. ![]() |

I think it would be hard to rewatch the original series and be unbiased in assessing the early dimensionality of the characters because they are already established in my mind.

I never really watched the original (I've seen maybe 2-3 episodes ever, though I am passingly familiar with the characters just from general pop culture) - but I really did enjoy this one. I hope it gets more episodes. It's nice to have a fun, nostalgic show - plus, since I was about their age in the 90's, it's also very enjoyable on that level.

Too bad the original cast wouldn't have been old enought to have older teenage kids for a That 80's Show instead of a That 90's Show. I think the 80's has a greater identity than the 90's.
Having been in middle and high school in the 80's and college and early marriage in the 90's, there isn't a lot about the 90's that stands out except maybe grunge and a few movies. The 80's had more defined fashion and music. You were still in the Cold War. While you DARE still existed in the 90's (with Leia wearing a shirt in the early episodes), it's heyday was the 80's with Reagan's war on drugs. |

Your whataboutism is lame and you forget the timeline of events I pointed out to you. I don't think any more time should be spent on this. He's not going to be on the show.
