I could be wrong, but that seems like a major release that Vinegar Syndrome (or Severin) would do themselves, with the help of 3DFA, because it would require major scanning and restoration. I think Dekanalog will release something that they can just license and drop onto a disc. Nothing in their catalog so far was produced prior to 2004.

last i heard, Severin acquired the Owensby titles.

I hope that’s true; they release a lot of box sets, which I’m sure most of us would be happy with.

Box sets in the US massively increase the odds of getting a scratched disc which is a pain to exchange - at least with individual releases each one can be dealt with separately. But that is looking like what's going to happen with the Owensby titles, a box from Severin. If only it could have been Vinegar Syndrome...

I am curious as to what Dekanalog are putting out though.

To date, I’ve had only good experiences with Severin titles. They’re expensive though if you have to import, so a box set offers greater value for me, particularly as I probably wouldn’t buy all the Owensby films if they released separately. At least Shout Factory haven’t got them!

I had to return a Severin UHD the other day, big circular scratches. But yes, at least it's not Shout Factory releasing these. That would be a tragedy.
