The RS1 is also a brighter projector then the RS2.

You get more on/off contrast on the RS2 compared to the RS1, but you sacrifice lumens for the increase in on/off.

A lot of RS2 owners have moved to the RS20 because of both the increase in contrast and lumens. That's not to say the RS2 is a dim projector, but most feel it doesn't have the lumens to drive BIG SCREENS!!!!!! The first gen JVC RS1/HD1 & RS2/HD100 are also notorious for the lamps dimming quickly. The 2nd gen HD350/RS10 & HD750/RS20's lamps do not dim as quickly but are only rated to 1500 hours, then it's another $400 for a new lamp.
