Yeah, I've been hoping for this for years now. I speculated last year of SF and Flanagan working together after he did a commentary track for their release of The Dead Zone. I would love for all of his Netflix films, and shows to get physical releases. He is one of my favorite directors working today.

I hope we can get Chopping Mall this year and not have to wait until the 40th anniversary in 2026.

I re-watched the DVD version today, it was 83 mins, but very possibly sourced from a VHS tape. It’s a very nicely lit film, good cinematography, I’m curious who the rights owner is. It may be with with Vestron but it could also be Lionsgate or someone else.

It's because their afraid of losing money. Since the pandemic Kino has become more picky about the titles they release. They won't release a complete uncut series DVD of the 90s The Outer Limits because they don't believe it would sell despite a lot of people loving the show.

I hope they do ‘Joshua Tree (1993)’ in 4K from the OCN. I recently watched the Species II and RoboCop 2 4K’s and the PQ is off the charts.

I had emailed SF back in 2021 to ask if they could do another printing, and they said they've considered this for some of their bestselling Corman titles, but that at the time their schedule was booked.

It sold out relatively quickly, so I think a second print run would be justified. I hope this request can be forwarded to the right people.

Thanks,

Michael
Hi Michael,

We've considered this for some of the better selling Corman titles (including Crab Monsters), but don't have anything definitely planned as of yet. Right now, our website exclusives schedule is booked through the first half of next year, so we couldn't do this until at least after that.

They should do another run for The Ninth Configuration.

I am happy with reprints if it means more people get to watch and own some of these films. I wasn't sure if I was going to upgrade my old DVD of Attack of the Crab Monsters. I missed out and think I will snag a copy.

They should cut the crap and put out a "reissue" of Velvet Vampire.

If they're going to reissue titles, at least start with some of the those site exclusives from the first wave including Time Walker and Up from the Depths

When that popped, I didn't pay any mind. Had never heard of it, and judged a book by it's cover.

Then I went to Living Dead Weekend a couple weeks ago and Tom Atkins was telling anecdotes about "after hours" drinking with Joe Spinell and Jason Miller and immediately added it to my list.

I would buy all three of those. There's gotta be a little demand built up since these sold out.

Velvet Vampire has certainly built up demand for a new release. Especially after having a spot on the Criterion channel for a bit.

It's also incredibly difficult to find (especially under $100). Last sold copy was on ebay in April for $200.

Also, the new transfer can't be found anywhere on streaming. I love the film but didn't see it until after it was OOP.

I would be more into them upgrading some of their old DVDs like Sweet Kill and Black Oak Conspiracy.

So they're randomly reissuing sold out exclusives now long after they're gone, and not just arbitrarily increasing runs of recent quickly selling exclusives...
this company is all over the place. Why these 2, why now?
I will say as someone who has Truckers from the first run, and that was a revisit for me, it's a really great underrated gem of a scifi/action film, I do highly recommend that one especially if you enjoy Dennis Hopper.
