LIFEGUARD now carries a street date of February 11th. I was hoping that it would show up this month, but at least it's coming.

Now the question is which do we buy the IMPRINT or FUN CITY version?
IMPRINT costs $8 more but you get a nice slipcase. With their transfers they look good, but it looks like no cleanup was made. You get white specks on the film and such. Only compliant I have with them.

I'm holding out for the Fun City, because they might perform some additional restoration. Imprint will simply use whatever materials are provided by the studio.

I have bought like 5 IMPRINT blurays with the hard slipcover and the colors & sharpness always looks good, but the movie print is not cleaned up like to remove dust specks.

According to their PR release Imprint's release will have the same transfer, they're both using Paramount's 4K restoration AFAIK.

The problem with Imprint is always their encoding. Their compression sometimes produces added noise especially with grainy transfers.

IMO unless you're heavy into collecting Imprint, there's no reason not to buy Fun City's release. It'll likely be better (or at worst a wash) technically and it's much cheaper than importing the Imprint disc.

only problem is that fun city discs are often scratched unlike imprints.

The IMDB lists the soundtrack as containing uncredited music from Burt Bacharach (ALFIE and WIVES AND LOVERS) and Henry Mancini (MOON RIVER). Perhaps those music pieces have been removed from one of the two soundtracks?

I'm presuming that the Paul Williams song "Time and Tide" is present in both versions.

Moon River is on there.
Don't remember the other ones.
