The Target I went to had 4 columns of Blu-Ray and 2 of HD-DVD. Their HD-DVD section had 3 slots fully stocked with Troy but their Blu-Ray section had 0 slots allocated for Troy.

Is WB short changing Blu-Ray when it comes to Troy?
Are you sure the Target had copies of the NEW edition of Troy? The one I frequent only has the older version, no new HD DVDs or Blu-Ray discs. Doesn't surprise me though, since they usually only get new released movies and not catalog titles.

WB def isnt anti blu ray at all thats crazy talk. This is actually a good sign that Troy is sold out on blu ray because that means its being bought over HD DVD considering HD DVD hasnt really sold n e

Man i think your over reacting since I bought this movie in the Bay Area at Best Buy! BTW I just did a check and supposedly Best Buy Emeryville & Marin City are the only stores in the Bay Area that have it in stock still. So I would call those stores & check for physical inventory BTW good luck at getting this movie as it is definitely worth it!

SO anyone see a copy near 880 from Santa Clara all the way to 80 in Berkeley?
I would like to pick one up on my commute home.
Get it in Emeryville supposedly they still have it in stock. It is right off of I-80 in the Powell st. exit.

Many hddvd's sitting on the shelves is a GOOD thing. Nobody is buying them!!! LOL

Maybe a lot of people bought Troy on Blu-ray.

I have NOT scene ANY 'We are Marshall' ANYWHERE on BD.

They will come.

SUSTAINED SALES is much better then a 1 day sales spike.

I think this is a good thing, the demand is higher than what was shipped. Sure its not going to be as dramatic as 300 because I remember all the people complaining about how they could not find that for like a week.
guess we will have to wait a few weeks for the neilson numbers

Default No one in their right mind wants the HD-DVD version

I don't think WB made less BD copies of Troy, but rather less people are buying the HD-DVD version. My local Best Buy only had 1 copy left (I got lucky ); while they had at least 12 HD-DVD's of Troy left.

I think we showed WB once more that the market is really demanding Blu-ray as the next format.

Well that and Troy (theatrical cut) has been out for over a year on HDDVD.
I know I am not speaking for ALL hddvd owners, but I wasn't prepared to double dip, i can tell you that much.

Target was never planning on getting it in on any format.

Warner Bros warehouse underwent a major remodeling the last couple of weeks, not all the BLU titles that were scheduled to be released on the 18th made it to the shelves. I got my version of TROY but the very helpful guy at Best Buy told me of the Warehouse situation, and that why "We are Marshall" didnt end up in my hands. Its very weird to say WB is anti-BLU, when 6 of the 7 titles I have are WB movies......whats this all about?

Let's not forget that the HD-DVD version of Troy came out months ago.

The blu ray version has been selling out everywhere here in the Seattle area, near impossible to find!

Just got home...heh....long ass day.

Best Buy in Emeryville was stocking the new Blu-Ray titles when I got there. It was easy pickings as all of my target movies were conviently located next to one another on the cart.

BTW they had 5 on the cart when I left. 3 people were looking for that Super Man TV show....none to be found.
