This release will NOT have the English Dub. It will have English subs. You will have to wait for the domestic release by Buena Vista to get the Dub.

Not surprised about that. With a rather niche audience, it would nearly nullify a domestic release.

Hopefully the US release is nearly simultaneous.

In case anyone is interested this is totally wrong.

The release does include the English Dub, its included as an extra, probably because Disney changed all the Japanese text in the film to english.

It's stated right in the press release: http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/n...01_312030.html

So I'll be picking this up, because I don't want to wait until March 2010 for the NA version

Disney has done that with all the films, going all the way back when their subsidary Miramax did Princess Mononoke. They have the "Viewing Angles" which if you select Japanese audio, it'll display the Japanese characters over the English and the other way around for the English audio.

It has the English dub because they're doing the US disc at the same time, and because the actors are popular in Japan as well as here. It's a selling point to upgrade

Obviously, why there including the dub and everything, but what do you mean because "there doing the US disc at the same time"? The US release isn't coming out until March. And aren't the releases being handled by two different companies.

Walt Disney is releasing it in Japan, US, and France. It was originally announced as a Pony Canyon title in Japan but that was an error. So the WD versions will probably be almost identical with the exception of language tracks/subtitles.

If the French release is Region All and has English subs; I'll pick it up. It's not due out until like the 22nd of December. I am hoping that Disney used the same master for all three so that each disc is identical.

The English dubbed is listed as having Japanese subs.

Are these subs forced or are they removable / optional?

I would avoid the English dubbing. The only voice that seemed to match in my opinion was Tina Fey as the voice of Lisa.

I'd be buying the movie for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas.

Since he can't read the dub is the most important part. He probably won't want crazy Japanese characters across the bottom of the screen the whole time, so whether or not I get it depends on whether or not I can remove them.

Is Tiny Fey Tina Fey's midget sister?
