Problems with WALMART?? - Blu-ray Forum

I am planing on going to wal-mart to buy Transformers: ROTF next Tuesday. My Walmart (Fair Lakes, Virginia) opens at 6 AM. Has anybody had any problems with walmart not having there new releases out at that time?? I remember i once had to wait almost 2 hours for a CD... but i am not sure about movies. Anybody had any problems at there walmart or my walmart (If you have gone there)? THANKS

I never had a problem with my wal-mart. Is your wal-mart 24 hrs?

My store has signs up that TF2 is available at 12:01 am.

it opens at 6 am and closes at either 11 or 12. I havent seen any signs saying anything about that.

mine is 24hrs. they tend to put stuff out around 11.

Last release Tuesday my Wal-Mart hadn't put out the new releases, and it was like 11:00 a.m. Tuesday! That was the first time I had been there on a new release Tuesday though. I wouldn't doubt if it's like that every Tuesday though. No telling what time they put the new stuff out.

i usually go when I get off work at around 4 am. Some stores are better than others. I have 3 stores I can go to on my way home. And each one differs from one another.

My 24-hour store sometimes has issues, and sometimes it doesn't.

They had Wizard of Oz out the day before, but one time I went there at midnight to pick up a game, and they had to go dig through boxes in the back to find copies of it.

Best bet is to call ahead and make sure they are aware of it coming out, and if they are, it will more likely be out when you get there.

Its that important to get it at that moment that you're worried about it being on the shelf at 6am? I think ya outta simmer down just a tad, it'll be there and a couple hours isnt going to end your life.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've never encountered or met anyone who tried to buy a new release at any WalMart and found them sold out or not on the shelves.

If you arrive at your local Walmart and the movie is not on the shelf, just ask them and they will go check in the back or check the boxes where they are putting inventory on shelves. I've always had good luck with associates helping me.

In my experience, Wal Mart is THE WORST with anything related to home entertainment. Not only do they rarely ever know what anything is, but they routinely don't put things out until late in the day and twice I got home and had a defective DVD from them. I stopped going to any Wal Mart store for anything about 2 years ago when I found out the way they negotiate their low prices.

Target usually opens at 8 and they are much better, so if you can wait I'd go there instead.

Target doesn't help him if he wants the Imax edition though... I have to be at work at 6:30am, I may stop at Wally World on my to work...

My Walmart is a 24 hr store. There're always issues with having enough BD releases in stock ZERO idea about home entertainment.

My store is a 24hr store, but they never have the movies out until about 9am the day of release.

Also they are always overpriced at the store, since their nearest competitor is Target and Best Buy, which are 15 miles on the other side of town. I also keep hearing about these so-called $10 BDs at WM, but mine never has them. The cheapest is maybe $14.96.

The Fair Lakes store is pretty unorganized, with a reduced emphasis on media products. That store is typically last on my list in Northern Virginia when it comes to searching for dvds/BDs/videogames. Both stores in Manassas or the one in Sterling are superior.
