Who needs Halo 3 anyway?

PS3 got Metal Gear 4 - sometime in the future - and Final Fantasy XIII - another Time in the future

I got a PS3, not because of the Games - they still awesome, but because the PS3 is Blu!!!

Are people really surprised that the company that offers a 5 year warranty on thier machines, does the same with their games as well? I mean everyone knows their hardware is beyond bad, and many Xbox 360 users should be used to shipping thier Microsoft product away and waiting for weeks for the replacement to arrive.

It is sad too, if not for these deficiences, I really think Microsoft would of had a damn good shot to lead this generation in sales total (not now, by for the generation as a whole), but they really shot themselves in the foot with continued hardware problems.

I have played Halo 3, and there is alot they did right. It is a top quality next gen game on any system, graphics and gameplay are tight. I never really cared for the storyline, with the now famous dud on Halo2, and I am not a big fan of fantasy FPS, but I know a good game when I see it.

This game is like a microcosim of the 360 so far, if you can play it, it is good at what it does, and FPS is king, online play is top quality, hardware sucks, and other games not really in the same ballpark...

Good honest opinion. I have never had an issue with my 360. I made one up in order to exchange it for an Elite (I wanted the HDMI output). HALO 3 is not perfect!!! (SCREAMS OF FEAR HEARD FROM ALL AROUND) But it is a good game. I still think Gears of War is a better game. HALO has a very loyal fan base, and not because it is bad, but because it is engaging and easy to learn. I am not a big gamer, but I do enjoy relaxing and playing some vids. I am a much bigger fan of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games. I do need to shoot something now and again though.

I disagree, I think BioShock is just as good as Halo3. Both are better than any game on PS3 so far...hopefully that changes soon...

Halo 3 is a big disappointment for me. I'm a heavy gamer and I took time to beat it twice: normal and hard mode. The graphics aren't the best I've seen and the multiplayer system is horrible. It's fun to play multi- but it gets boring after half an hour.

The campaign can be finished in less than 5 hours. If your doing coop, it will be less. Also, journalists are rigging the review scores. I got my review removed, and I was banned from Gamespot for giving the game less than 9.0

Well I'm not a heavy gamer, but I've played co-op and it took us about 8 hrs. to finish the game on Normal, it could probably be less if we skip all the videos. I'm not sure how the multi-player system is horrible. It seems to work just fine.

I think we will begin to see more quality games coming out for the PS3, just give it time and be patient. Hell the damn thing hasn't been out for a year yet! I've played Halo before and didn't really care for it. I just saw it as being overhyped and somewhat bland. Don't get me wrong I love FPS games, but lately the genre has become boring and stagnant. There's only so much you can do with the whole Sci-Fi theme. I wonder how Call Of Duty 4 will turn out now that they ditched the whole WWII theme. Since some of you have 360's have any of you tired out Medal Of Honor Airborne? If you did, how was it? The last few games were blown away by COD.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of FPS, I only played a few. Some upcoming FPS look pretty good though. Kill Zone 2, Call of Duty 4, Timeshift.

About Medal of Honor Airborne, I've only played the demo but it seems good. I would say better than Call of Duty 2 (I haven't play CoD3)

8 Hours? o_O You must have taken breaks.
The multiplayer is terrible because of the rank system. It's whacky. But I hear they might fix it. Also the achievements are glitchy. I got the needler one twice.

Maybe you can take away 30mins for breaks. 7 1/2 hours then.
Multiplayer seems fine to me, I haven't had any problems with it so far. If you don't like the rank system than play in social games. As far as the achievements being glitchy, I haven't had one glitch yet.

I dunno if you guys noticed... but M$FT seems to have a BIG problem with Halo 3. It appears that the standard version of Halo 3 has been causing the X-Box 360 to either not play or self-destruct... yes... self-destruct... causing the infamous Red Ring of Death or the optical drives cannot read the CD. Some users are reporting that their HDD gets corrupted when playing the game... talk about a major screwup... but hey! it's M$FT, what else can you expect? It's just a SNAFU (Situation Normal, All F***ked Up)

Halo 3 seems to be a fun game, but the scores it has received seems to be bought. I can't provide to links, because I'm typing on the PS3. It seems a game reviewer has come forward and said MS sent him a $800 "gift bag" (which he sent back). Google it.

Not only that, but Halo 3 is only a semi-complex native 640p game (google this, too). That's probably why some people have complained about the graphics being Halo 2.5. That is a very wierd resolution. I wonder if that's all the X360 can handle. There are no complex 1080p games out now or on the horizon for Xbox 360. On the other hand, the PS3 has GT5:Prologue running at 1080p/60 and MGS4 is suppose to run at 1080p/60.

It seems we can count of MS to try to take the shortcut.

It's probably just the sudden heavy use of 360's causing the existing hardware issues to show up in greater numbers.

This thread has derailed into mainly Halo 3 gameplay/graphics discussion and I'm suspicious that was the original intent so moving to off-topic.

What? This is disturbing if true. Go over their head and don't just send emails but telephone and send letters to their superiors. The journalists are supposed to be objective.
