It COULD happen--
The Image season boxsets looked pretty darn spiffy, loaded with extras and most taken from film sources.

Anyone else, I'd be doubting, but Image sounds pretty likely.
(Even though I'd only be picking up the first three seasons, since the fourth was the crappy one-hour season that had only two good shows, and the fifth was half full of wimpy Earl Hamner episodes.)

Awesome news, now how about Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and the original one season show The Night Stalker with Darrin McGavin? They would also be a treat.

It was 1-1/2 seasons and Universal owns both.
We're talking Studio, not Category, sorry.

Awesome...
I'll be getting The Twilight Zone on blu-ray then!
I wonder if they will release the individual seasons individually and/or the complete (all seasons) edition...

Epic Fail!

The fourth season was great and although season 5 was the weakest there were also a few of the best ever made which makes season 5 a must own.

I guess once it's offical it will be time to dump the Defenitive sets....

it's kinda funny, i don't know how many modern shows come close to what they were able to do with the original b&w TV shows of the Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits. just think, they had tiny budgets, almost nothing in the way of special effects, but they made due with what they had and they had great writing and great acting in each story. tv series (sci-fi-fantasy) today rely too much on special effects instead of stories that make you think and were suspensfull.
i think the closest thing i've seen to those shows on todays tv has probably been BSG.

I will pick up both the TZ & TOL if they should ever come to blue!

Check out the archive clip where Serling was interviewed before the series came out:
The interviewer had heard it was going to be "a sort of sci-fi" show, and keeps asking "So, why'd you want to do a show with flying saucers in it?", as if he couldn't understand why the writer of "Requiem for a Heavyweight" would want to do "Lost in Space".

...They just didn't know what they were getting.

Yeah, Outer Limits would be great on blu, especially the series that aired on Showtime. Those were the good ones.

It is hard enough for Universal to release Alfred Hitchcock presents... they just released Season 4 on DVD last week, and it is a great season with a ton of stars like Bette Davis, Claude Rains etc. - I don't see Universal doing HD transfers on these shows yet. I could be wrong but I am grateful for the DVD releases so far.

and don't forget we are still waiting for the 3rd and final season of NIGHT GALLERY from Universal.

I would buy Twilight Zone on BLU for sure. Even f several episodes were shot on tape (we all know how odd those look) but the ones shot on film should look great.

So long as the HD masters were done properly and are transferred well to BD (no excessive DNR and EE), these should be a nice upgrade since most were shot on film. Many black & white films are big improvements on BD.

I'm still wading through the DVD sets that I got a few months back. I won't be upgrading anytime soon....
