But DreamWorks co-founders Steven Spielberg and David Geffen had dropped hints in recent weeks that they might take their filmmaking talent elsewhere.

Lets face it without these two, dreamworks ceases to be a real threat to anybody.

Anyone who thinks the movie theater is the best way to see a movie is living in 1990 with a 20-inch TV.

Keep the overpriced popcorn, drinks and people kicking my chair. I'll take an intimate viewing at home with great picture, sound, atmosphere, food and oh yeah, I own the movie.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to a theater in that past two years.

Time to move forward.

Couldn't agree more. I always go to the theatre with my wife because of my fond childhood memories of the theatre experience. Now, it just sucks. People are so damn rude. Kids are totally loud and out of control and turn off your damn cell phones!

Yup, I couldn't agree more the theater experience sucks big time now. The worst thing for me is when people are talking loudly through the movies (young stupid teenagers), talking on the cell phone, & constantly texting through a movie god I hate those things!!! In regards to Paramounted & dreamworks I will not support them till they go back to Blu-Ray. Then and only then will I give them some of my money.

Tell me about it, the theater used to be fun to go to, now whenever I go, no matter where I sit, some fool has to come and sit right in front of me. Even when the theater is mostly empty, they just have to sit in front of me. Then some idiot comes and sits behind me and kicks my seat the whole movie. Then everyone around me chews with their mouth open and talk as loudly as possible.

The worst is when they bring babies into the theater....I mean let's get real.....what're they thinking??.And you're right, the rudeness is incredible.
And the theater I used to go to sells nachos for crissakes and you always get someone crunching in the seat right behind you.

If you want to see one of their movies in the theater, buy a ticket to a movie from a Blu-ray studio instead, and then just go in the other door.

I make a point of not seeing paramount/dreamworks/universal films I don't even rent them. They are boycotting me so I return the favor. funny they were running a few startrek films on a hidef channel on my dish and I couldn't bring myself to watch them. Paramount are such dinks.

Totally agree. Even the digital projection seems average when compared to a good blu setup. Makes you feel like showering and tossing your clothes into the laudry bin the second you leave that place. Filthy, sticky, smelly.

So true. When they decide to make some BD's, they'll be welcome back (hesitantly).

enjoy

When talking about going to the theater, if you want to be evil and there is a Paramount/Dreamworks movie you must see, just buy the ticket for another movie and go sit for the movie you want anyway. Not like theaters care what theater you go in as long as you see one movie for one ticket.

The only time theaters care is if it's a sold out theater and you'd be taking an otherwise needed seat.

Maybe it's the nature of where I live, but nobody is rude in the theaters here in Connecticut. Everyone turns off their cellphone, nobody talks and people mind each other's personal space.

I guess what goes around comes around. Looks like Paramount/Dreamworks are hurting themselves. As for going to the theater I just wait for a release to come to dvd or BD and will either buy it outright, depending on the movie, or will rent it. Digital Theaters are nice, but the annoyance of the audiences and FAR overpriced concessions are keeping me at home with my Sony 50" SXRD and PS3.

All that and people chewing in my ear, talking on their cells or bringing babies in with them. One infant behind us last time took a shit and the whole joint stunk......No shit

Not to mention if you have to go to the bathroom, you can pause a movie and go. It sucks having to go in the middle of a movie then find your seat in the dark.
