Does this mean that even the Japanese release of Spirited Away will be an upscaled version? That would be really nasty.

No, Ghibli would not use an upscale for their version.

Well... I don't have it, as it is just an upscaled version. I have not seen any reviews of it. What I have read on another forum is that it not great (f.e. aliasing).
