So I know that 28 Days Later will be low PQ, but 28WL has grain like 300? If so, I'm taking it back and I'll just stick to the SDVD. |

In fact, you should take back your BD player because they're releasing an update that adds intentional grain to all movies played. Yes, including DVDs if you're using a PS3. ![]() |

And no, I wouldn't buy the SDVD instead of the BRD. I've already seen both and was just buying them to add to the collection and showcase the TV (notsomuch with 28 Days Later though). |

So yeah...I knew about the poor qualiety before popping it in. Still have to say I am sad. All but five minutes ofthe movie looks worse than SDVD. The last five minutes makes me think of what could have been. Ah well, still a fantastic movie, and I am glad it is Blu exclusive. On to the sequal.....

How was the audio? That may having been the one thing this title on blu could offer.
Just a note, while someone listed it as PAL 720x576i. What you see in this movie isnt that. First of all that camera has a 4:3 sensor. So its widescreen mode loses some res. Second it's Frame mode isnt true 25p...so thats a hit in resolution. That's why we traded up for the Canon XL2..which had a full resolution 16:9 mode and true 24p. In short The Xl1 falls short of what's capable on standard dvd. Not saying its a bad movie but I would argue that its never "the directors intended vision" to get a standard mini dv "look". That's a budget restraint. If someone wants a grainy look then 16mm is a good option.Or underexposing 35mm and using push process in the developing. I think film grain can be beautiful. Pixelization..not so beautiful. |

You think Danny Boyle had a budget restraint that limited him to a Canon DV worth 3 grand?!? Are you serious? This movie had an 8 million dollar budget man..the camera was chosen on purpose. This is successful film director .. not some nobody. Last edited by statikcat; 10-10-2007 at 03:24 PM. |
