FOX's "American Idol" (Season 16)

To be honest, I don't think any of the guys gave a particularly great performance last night. Even the "pretty boy" that Kara likes so much didn't do THAT great. He was definitely one of the better ones by comparison but it still didn't exactly blow me away. Btw, I think they REALLY need to tone down the whole "Kara likes you" thing. For one, I could tell last night that it was very distracting to the guy while he was trying to perform. Plus, come on Kara grow up! You're married and almost 40.

This year is the exact opposite of last year. The women's group is much stronger than the men's.

I think they fixed that Dylan's girl teeth. They weren't as nasty looking as last week. Her playing the harmonica was pretty cool too!

They should give them more time to sing 2 minutes is NOT enough. Is it any wonder why most of the songs get butchered??

Gotta say, I'm not interested in this show anymore.

It's more about the judges than it is the kids.

4 judges? Unnecessary.

Ellen Degeneres? Unnecessary.

I think Kara is a waste of space. Everything about her annoys me -- her attitude, the way she squints her eyes while talking down to people, etc.

I wish I still liked the show but I think, for me, it jumped the shark when Kara joined (which led to Paula's demise and Ellen's needless insertion).

Not meant to be a threadcrap. I was always a fan until recently.

I agree with most of this. I miss Paula. I mean she was a very nice judge and wouldnt give hard critiques even when deserved because she is so sweet but that was still a good formula with her, Randy, & Simon. Dont care for Ellen or Kara. Simon & Randy are the men though. Got Em!!

I don't really watch the show much anymore (when I was in college I watched it more often, because my roomates did).

I disagree about Ellen though. Especially with Simon leaving after this season, it's good that they got someone like Ellen signed onto the show.

She doesn't necessarily know much about music, but then again, how much do the people that watch and vote know about music? So in a way, I guess she's the people's judge.

I wonder what they'll do to fill Simon's spot next season, because I can't imagine them dropping it down to three judges.

Kara can be annoying at times, but I'd rather see her than Abdul.

The best course of action with American Idol is watching right up until they get to Hollywood. After that it's all downhill.

This year's crop of contestants is pretty awful so far. Maybe in a few weeks with more practice and more time to get comfortable being on stage, we'll see some standouts. Hopefully.

The judges are also getting annoying. Every other contestant gets reamed for not changing up the song they are singing. Then you get the guy who really changed up Kelly Clarkson's song, and he gets reamed for changing it too much. Make up your minds guys!

Yo I forgot to mention did anyone see the part after the last girl was eliminated or the perfromance os the chick with red hair right before they went to commercial break Seacrest said stay tuned as Tyler gets bad news? That was 2 segments before Tyler got eliminated. I rewinded it to make sure and yep he said that. It had to be a slip up. Did anyone else catch that? Got Em!!

I just rewatched it on my DVR....after the second girl eliminated performed they show he go to hug Ryan and then it cuts to a commercial. When it comes back is when they're showing the video of Tyler in the bathrobe and boots during rehersals.

I totally agree with you about Angela and Thaddeus. I was totally disappointed that they didn't make the top 24. What made me even more upset was when at the last minute they put Tim Urban in the top 24. He's awful. They should've called Thaddeus, not Tim. So far all the guys except for Aaron were a disappointment. I hope this week they perform better. My favorite girl on the show is Paige. I also like Katie Stevens and Michelle Delamor.

Naw man when I rewinded it the bathrobe scene already happened and at the end of the guest star segment he said after the break Tyler gets bad news" Then later he gets cut. Oh well just sumthin I caught. No one elese mentioned it so no biggie. Got Em!!
