Red face Just a thought...

Wait 'til these companies start getting sued after a period of time-regarding consumer complaints that peoples' vision has suffered due to over-exposure. Your eyes were not designed to see in this depth perspective on a regular basis. Look at it like reading the newspaper or any literature in 3D over a period of time... What do you think will happen to your eyes?

I saw the sony lcd playing clowdy with a chance of meatballs and it was jaw dropping. I really want to check out the panny plamsa.

If I had the cash right now I would get that in a heart beat.

I wish I had the extra $3,500 or so lying around right now to pick one up.

like someone else already said earlier-all of the new Samsungs are going to be edge-lit. The B8500 was the last backlit model.
The problem I have with their 3D LED is that you can't turn off the 240Hz while you are in 3D mode and that you can't change your picture settings - it changes automatically to "Standard" so if you have some custom settings or if you've had your TV professionally calibrated - too bad. So for right now I like the way the Panny 3D works better but it's gonna be a while until I buy a 3D set. I just bought my Sammy 46A950 backit LED a couple months ago!

I was at bb yesterday and I saw the pana and the samsung, the pana had a video of a city and the samsung monsters vs aliens, I felt like the panasonic looks better, but both were impressive. The only think I won't get right away in a 3d is the price of the glasses, way too expensive. Also I think if you going to get one you have to go big, a list 55".
The picture looks more vivid and popping out of the tv, I think it looks better than the theaters just smaller.

I checked out the Samsung, Panasonic, and Mitsubishi 3D last weekend and I feel the Panasonic is the best bang for your buck hands down. My Best buy had it next to a Kuro and it looked as good if not better (when viewing on 2d mode) IMHO. Hopefully by summer you will be able to pick one up for $1800 or so (given they are $2499 now)...

Huh?!?! Eyes weren't designed to see in depth perspective on a regular basis?! Last time I checked I have seen depth my entire life and no eye issues so far. This is the silliest post against 3D I have ever seen.

I demoed the Samsung about a week ago. Finally found a Panasonic today. I think the Panasonic is better. I'm impressed with both though. I will be getting a 3D tv now. I'm still going to wait a year or so. Think of how much better the t.v's will be in just a year too.

It looked good, when it started to move fast you lost the 3-d effect but it still was ok, Not worth the investment to me.

Sony's 3D display wowed me for two reasons.. 1. It was running 3D content thru a PS3, so I've actually SEEN that it can do it and 2. There was actual 3D game footage from Motorstorm which looked good enough that one of the jumps actually gave me some vertigo.

Even in the overly-litigious U.S., there will be no lawsuits over this just as there haven't been any lawsuits over sound levels at music concerts and clubs that exceed OSHA regulations for factories and even though an overly loud concert can permanently damage your hearing in less than 10 minutes of exposure (not to mention the hearing loss that will be caused by using earbuds at high levels.)

There's also absolutely no proof that watching 3D negatively affects your eyes. In fact, based on eye-exercise machines that have been around for years (my father-in-law was an Optometrist who invented one), it might actually help with some vision issues.

And just for the record, I'm not a 3D fanboy and have no intention of buying one. (I'm waiting for true holography, which probably won't happen in my lifetime.)
