let s be honest
PS3's PES is a shame!!

I ve always played and preferred PES to EA's FIFA,
a new PES has always been like a beaujolais.

wanted every year

but what can we say... EA worked his title. this year's FIFA IS the reference. PES is just a trash. this is how konami thank their fans??
PS3 version is ridiculous!! poor framerate, online play is a disaster... plus several game modes that have just been erased from PS2's version...
this is how you fulfill 50GO??? I remember konami promoted : "each support will have a different version proper to its own capacity"
so we were able to think that PS3 would just be marvelous!! and that s what konamy promised!!

just a word to konami :

you just suck and you lost a fan.

It won't be a disaster at all. UK charts are already showing PES is scoring better than FIFA. Actually, after having played both games on my PS3, PES gets more fun the longer you play it, FIFA is getting on my nerves very quickly

The Sunday Times' InGear supplement awarded the game 5 out of 5 and they're rarely generous with their marks! Looks a lot more fun than FIFA IMHO!

They have a patch scheduled to fix online play and core gamaplay I heard. PS2 ftw!

The on-line play does need a patch from all reports. That one doesn't effect me personally.

I thought the framerate issues were cut-scenes or replay playback and not really gameplay? Is that not the case?

The PS3 hardware is more powerful than the 360. This is a fact. It all depends on if the developers want to take advantage of the cell processor. Port's generally to my knowledge do not do this.. and this is how the PS3 shines.

When more games are released that dominate anything seen on the 360 that is where the demand will be and it will be more worth the time for devs to spend more man hours coding for the cell.

Also, is this Sony fault another company released a shitty port or game?

I was under the impression the problem with this game stemmed from certain HD TV sets. Maybe setting your resoultion to 720p in the ps3 setting may fix some things.

I stopped buying PES/WE games a while ago as Konami has followed EA's footsteps in failure to make any real improvements for each new version. I have to say I didn't expect the PS3 and 360 versions to be as bad as they are being reported to be.

Well...i've tried all the resolution settings (my tv supports 480p, 720p, and 1080i) and even hoofed it over to a friend's home with a 1080p display just to make sure but it's not helping the framerate problem (and its not a small framrate problem that can be ignored ...ala Lair)

thing is....i've always preferred PES over FIFA ....actually its driven more out of a preferrence for konami over EA (money sucking leeches) but konami has let all fans of PES down big time

and today i'm going to do the unthinkable........trade in the PES for FIFA....i can already feel a very bad taste in my mouth.

I don't agree with the convienient "its a bad port" theory at all ......not for PES which was born on the playstation.......not with the development team led by "Seabass" which has/should have extensive knowledge of everything sony. Ignorance is not an excuse.......though incompetence can be one!!

I'm no fanboy but i've always supported Sony for their big heart approach and for being a tooth and nail tech company driven by vision and innovation....very opposite to MS which operates on "how do we make more money......today!" mantra

Assasin's Creed will be the final Straw.......it can't possibly be a port as it was announced for ps3 first , and later lost exclusivity to 360. There is no possible explanation for that game not performing better on the ps3 than on the 360. Even parity will not be acceptable

How many of you out there think we will get a better Assasin's Creed?

Any idea when this is coming to the US?

If it's quite a while, what will happen if I have a friend in Liverpool send me the game? will it work on my US PS3?

I have FIFA 08 and it's pretty fun, but I've been waiting for PES for the PS3 for a while.

The PS3 should be getting a better COD4 (developed from the ground up on ALL the platforms). I don't think Assassin's Creed had the PS3 as the lead platform. I believe it was the PC. Therefore, it should look slightly better on the 360.

Any of you kind folks here know if the JPN version, Winning Eleven 2008, will include English commentary? I'm contemplating on getting the Euro version of PES 2008 instead of waiting till Nov 11...
