Joon, I think he meant a discount if you buy the SD and the Blu version.

You are correct!!!

Unless money is not an obstacle for you, I beleive the avg consumer spent their $60 last week for the spidey box set, then to turn around and spend another $60 on cars/Rat. That is a lot to ask. Plus another $15 for the standard def version for my kids unit?

So Rat is #1 on amazon this week. What is their competition? Just because its #1 doens't mean it puts up Spidey like numbers. Look at Britney, normally 250k in album sales is HUGE for billboard as you can normally hit number one only moving about 40K, but insert The Eagles who only sold their CD at walmart, and they moved 750K in sales last week. So, #1 doesn't always equate to more units??????

I don't get all this "I have to buy the SD version so my kids can watch it in the car." WTF? Stick 'em in the boot like my parents did to us. Hell, we came out ok (except the time the car had a exhaust leak into the boot, but . . . )

boot = trunk in American English

I'm personally dissappointed with the results. I really thought this should hit 200k for the standalone Spidy 3. Instead its a virtual tie with Transformers. No doubt the Hd-dvd guys will be all over this fact...

A virtual tie? How so? 20,000 more individuals sold, throw in the trilogy, and this no where near close to a virtual tie.

it is a virtual tie - we don't know the exact numbers of transformers - just that its between 100-140k or so. 130k of spidey if my math is correct is in that same range. I had hoped/expected with the fact that bluray outsells hd dvd 2-1 in software -- we should have seen a 200-250k plus week for Spidey easily.

Since the recent events happening at the other forum, I'm beginning to sense a disturbance in the force here.

Actually, we know they sold between 90 and 110k, spidey was 130k. 130>110. Throw in the trilogies, and you have your number of around 200k.

Dude, until prices for players come down this is a hard reality. My kids have a tv and dvd player in their Toy Room. They at some point in the day want to watch a movie. I'm in the middle of playing COD4, and one of them asks to watch Rat. He doesn't know it won't play on his TV and I don't want to stop playing my game. The only logical solution is to just buy the Standard Def version. I'm not rich and spend $100 a week like some of you do on this forum just on movies. I think I represent the avg consumer.

Chill greekie. I was a joke. I was never put in the boot of the car. Sometimes I was strapped to the roof rack like baggage, but never locked in the boot.

Here's an idea though when you have the problem of playing your game and your kid wanting to watch the movie. Why don't you watch the Blu version with him? Spend some time with the kid. Couldn't hurt. But anyhow, I do understand how it can be a problem.

So now I'm a bad parent? You tell me to chill, but then shoot another one across my bow?

I do watch it with him the first 3 times, but when kids get new movies they want to watch it ALL the time. He's already watched transformers like 30 times already.

WTF? Where did I say you were a bad parent? Jeez. All I suggested was when your kid wanted to watch the movie, watch it with him. My kids are grown and gone, and believe me, there are times when I wish they were back home so we could do things together again.
