Can someone please explain to me the PS3 Wi Fi functionality???

From work you could start downloads from the PSN store so they would be ready when you get home, stream your music, photos etc.

If you have the Eye you could check in on things at home or use the video chat ..well at least to see other people..you'd be freaking them out as they wondered why you aren't showing up on your camera.

The hotspot focus to me does distract from the bigger picture that it's any access point..

Btw some cities are turning the entire city into a wi-fi "hotspot" ..not just a particular point like Starbucks.
