Default What new PSP functionality do you want to see?

I want to see BlueTooth 2.0 support. I want to be able to use a BT stereo headset and maybe even communicate with my PS3, cell phone, or PC.

I would LUV that!

A more comfortably positioned or even shaped analogue stick/nub. I think they could shape it halfway between the current design and a normal stick and sink it into a concave part of the face so it doesn't catch on anything.

Bluetooth would be good for headsets and making the memory stick visible to Macs & PC's for small file transfers. If they made a Mac + PC app for WiFi file transfers that would be quicker, especially if they upgraded to Wireless-G on the PSP.

Further size reduction in all directions, smaller screen with higher ppi if necessary, just like the GBA micro.

No UMD drive - sold seperately as a PS3 accessory used for copying UMD's to Memory Stick, DRM applied just like downloadable PSP games.

Analogue face buttons and dpad.

Wouldn't even need a PS3 for this. Detachable UMD drive (connect to PSP via mini-USB port) would be excellent.

Better LCD w/ faster response time to reduce ghosting on high-contrast images.

Folding Bluetooth keyboard with integral mini-trackball for mousing.

Hell yeah...

As far as the PS3, I'm not really sure...I'm honestly pulling a blank...

The PSP still has a lot of things that could improve for me, I had the original (on release day in the US) and bought the slim shortly after it came out. But as someone above mentioned, I want to get rid of ghosting on the screen...a keyboard is a MUST, but I'm not worried about a trackball...

Honestly I want the things that are available in other parts of the world available for me...TV tuner for the PS3 and PSP (although I know that's far away the way our system is setup in the US), I want a US release of the PSP camera, GPS...I know the GPS is coming...I just hope soon.

I've never really been too interested in a touch screen on the PSP...but if it had GPS, then a touch screen would be highly useful.

I wish the PS3 could read a drive formatted in NTFS instead of just FAT...and more codecs...just bring on the codecs, hehe.

Speaking of codecs, I want DivX support on the PSP as well!

Bluetooth would be great...um...I'm sure there's more I'm thinking of...

No don't get rid of the UMD and don't get a smaller screen. Look at my thread were we talk about blUMD and a 720p screen. Bluetooth would be good though and maybe a 15GB hard drive though I suppose these will probably be added in the next PSP.

Can we just make PSP suggestions here? There's countless PS3 suggestion threads, the most recent of which I've moved the PS3 suggestions here to.

What new PS3 features would you like to see most in the next update?

I still have the old model, but do you think the new model needs improving anytime soon. I mean besides firmware?

Bluetooth
802.11g instead of just b (don't know why they didn't upgrade that in the last one)
Touchscreen for better GPS functionality
Better placed analog stick
DivX Support (come on...the PS3 has it)
Keyboard
US release of Camera and GPS attachments
Internal SSD Memory
Potato Canon

Default psp slim

While the psp is a fantastic system the slim fell short due to some aditions sony
should've added.
1) Bluetooth-ps3 has it if slim had it then we could've added
psp to ps3 so much more reliablly ,also if psp had this then when playing on tv
a sixaxis could've been registered to a psp allowing for use of a real controller
at home-or at least on a tv.

2)Better online-while psp has very strong online i should be able to partition
some of my mem stick to assist with loading of internet pages and games...also i'd have been nice if sony had used ,at least,802.11 g on slim as b is much slower-this might've increased the amount of infistructure games over ad-hoc.
Killzone on psp actuially went from ad hoc to infistructure with an update i only
wish more games would get that update. Acid, disgreia, lsw and so many more
would benifit by this.

3)Blu-ray-this is more a psp 2 thing but seeing as how blu has won making a mini blu umd size shouldn't be as costly as developing and producing blu was.

I'm curious as to when psp 2 would be announced with the current recesion looming but i'd EXPECT all this and perhaps even wireless n in a psp 2.

Some would say add a 2nd analog stick but size and weight being inportant factors the best thing would be to not incumber it perhaps a touch screen for
surfing the net and unique gameplay beating nintendo at their own game.

Nintendo plans to release a new ds with more memory and bigger screens but
only if ds lite sales cool. It would also NOT PLAY gba games as it would have no cart slot.

Bottom line i own the original psp and bought a slim and outside of some
missed opertunity(s) it's the best portable on the market.

i bet we'll see psp 2 late next year.

personally i want it to mimic a ps controller. i want 2 sticks and 2 more shoulder buttons. that way we can play ps1 and ps2 games properly, that would mean better support for remote play on ps3 as well.

it also needs touchscreen and an internal flash drive on top of the memory card slot. 32gb flash drives will be fairly cheap by the end of this year so it shouldn't be too difficult to add one a year or later from now.

i'll be really sad if psp 2 isn't touchscreen tho

I'm not so sure we will see the PSP 2 quite so soon. The PSP does everything you need it to currently. It has very good graphics for a handheld, a wide selection of games, and potential for better and longer games (e.g. God of War Chains of Olympus later this year). Like the PS3, Sony built the PSP to be as future-ready as possible.

the ds is stomping it and you better believe a new ds will be out by the end of next year. its already been out for 3 years. the psp isn't a 10 year device like normal consoles

Yes the ds has beat psp but only after lite arrived as the original brick was very unattractive and gompyier. With slim's arrivial hearled by god of war and final fantasy psp is definatly fighting back. But if the us or for that matter the world
stops spending so freely entartainment will be first on the chopping block.

Translation-portible or home console people will balk at dumping their current gear for a psp 2,xbox 720 or ds 2.0 enless the prices are around the same as
current gear so if new hardware arrives the current gear shoud be reduced by 50% if the markets tighten up allowing a new psp 2 a price of $199.

E3 won't arrive until july so the new ds might be unveiled there...nintendo says it can't unveil new hardware until after fiscal year end so e3 was kept as july.
I wonder if sony will show us psp 2. Thankfully ms is too busy dealing with 360
to launch a portable because a portable halo would still sell units.
