+1. that is what HD DVD paid for $150M..... it worth nothing, because I don't even plan to buy the DVD as the film is soooo ugly.

I am going to shoot for 78:22, it's high, but with the Pixar films, the lowered PS3 price, and a bit of the BOGO, it might be possible.

oh, yes. BOGO. it's 100+ titles. Imagine what impact it will be. the ranks in amazon is not going up because the sale is spread to disney and sony titles.

Yeah, I think it will gonna be that big. Rats (hits #3) + cars (hits #6), + some spiderman + sunday BOGO + a lot of new players (400$ PS3).

I don't think the BOGO was necessary to combat Shrek numbers but I think Disney and Sony really want to rub it in Paramounts face this time. They didn't win Transformers week and they arent even going to get close for this week.

Just Amazon. I guess they figured they didn't need to push too hard this time to block them. But looking at What Shrek is doing on Amazon it isn't looking good for HD DVD.

It'd be nice if we could get Grubert's summaries for the first few posts of this thread since AVS killed it... that was a great info resource (they could have at least just locked it and let him edit it once a week ).

I'm right with ya on this prediction. I too, will say 78:22,...ya know, so that if it is any higher than that, I can be pleased as punch.

Almost certainly over 80, with HD DVD in the teens (as is only appropriate, zits and all).

Moving on to this current week, it's not the Amazon BOGO charts that surprise me as much as the decline in HD DVD sales numbers. Didn't these people just get close to a hundred thousand new customers? How come there is a very pronounced downward trend in their Amazon software sales ever since the firesale ended?

Couldn't be that they're all buying their discs from Wal-Mart, could it?

I'm still going with 84/16.
If I'm off, I'll just edit this post after the real numbers come in on Friday.

I voted 81:19 on AVS and think I'll stick with it. I could see it as high as 84 but will be surprised if it's much higher than that or if it's lower than 78 or so.
