Chris Nolan has said nothing about the entire film in IMAX. Thus, this is a rumour.

Damn, I thought there's an announcement for Batman 3 on BD already. Sticky!!

Either way, it's way to early to determine what's going to happen.

Yes it is and honestly it's hard for any movie that uses mostly dark or night scenes to really be reference anyway. Just hoping for pretty good PQ and really good AQ.

I really can't wait for Batman 3.
Now I hope when this hits Blu-Ray it will get a DTS-HD MA 5.1 track and not a DolbyTrue HD track like the past two Batman flicks have...
Although, I'm more excited for Inception to hit Blu-Ray. That will have incredible PQ and AQ and that's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

How is this a straight up rumour? Wally Pfister the Director of Photography that always works with Christopher Nolan is the one being interviewed by MTV in the linked article. Please read the actual article linked instead of just denying it.
I think Warner Bros. could make a reference quality transfer with Batman Begins 3. Sure TDK suffered in the 35mm scenes but that's because they used the IMAX DMR digital intermediate. So technically they did a 100% accurate to the source material job. And the IMAX scenes in TDK are reference quality.

rise, that's a completely diff. thing doing poor encoding/mastering of a brand new film (the dark knight) is very diff. from Batman3. i believe a better version will come out in the future. just give it time. this is too popular a franchise to ignore.

Just going to say I love the Nolan batman films so far but I am kind of tired of batman being just a guy who goes around hitting things. I really think they need to delve into the aspect of him becoming the worlds "greatest detective" as he is supposed to be in the comic books. I could totally understand that batman would start out as just a guy who goes around punching people but to really hit all the key aspects of batman as a character whole they need to get into the intellectual side of things as well. Anyway now that inception is finished and a great film by my estimation Nolan will have time to really delve into the next batman and hopefully have it live up to the last two.

He did plenty of detective work in both films.

He says he hopes to shoot the entire movie in IMAX, there's no confirmation of anything, just his wishes. Filming an entire movie in IMAX is cumbersome and expensive, so you have to wonder if Warner (and Christopher Nolan, even) really want it to happen.

Would be nice, albeit costly and I think a proper send-off for what has been to date one of the best superhero trilogies ever, if not the best.

he should do just do the entire movie in standard 65mm - its less expensive than IMAX (and less cumbersome) and both 70mm and IMAX prints can be struck from the intermediate negative.

I did. Did you? He says he wants to shoot it in IMAX. Nolan does not (or he has not come out and said it). Nolan has final say. Until he does, this is just a rumor.
