xXx is a entertaining movie, I own the BD version of that movie and I noticed that indeed the PQ wasn't up to BD quality but then again it's MPEG 2, I have a rule of thumb MPEG 2 is good on DVD, but should be avoided on BD.

I perfer AVC titles as MPEG 4 is an open standard and has a very higher PQ.

Default xXx was bad but not as bad as....

Tomb raider... has to be the worst transfer hands down. I am kinda glad paramount is taking a break so they can get their f&#@ing house in order.

28 days was bad but If you look at what it was shot on it looked about as good as it could.. if you remember the movie was real low budget and a suprise hit..

Yeah, Some of the very first Blu-rays had pretty crappy PQ and they all were on 25GB discs to boot.

I really wanted xXx, but I've been relying heavily on Blu-ray.com and Highdefdigests reviews on PQ when buying Blu's and it had bad PQ.

I'm hoping a good bit of the early Blu-rays get re-mastered like "The Fith Element". Right now I'm holding off on some of those early movies first released and hoping they eventually release some remastered versions down the road.

As time goes on PQ and encoding has gotten much better. Plus we have 50GB dual layer discs as standard now.

I had XXX on Blu-Ray and I ended up selling it on ebay.Bad picture quality. Its a good thing Blu-Ray has approved, because if they kept on releasing crap HD DVD would be the winner right now.
As for 28 Days Later.Yeah I know it looks bad.The worst scene in the movie I thought was the flashback scene with Jim's parents. But the climax of the movie looks good thoe as I think the ending of the movie was shot on film?

I watched it the other night, and it was an entertaining movie, but I also noticed the pq. At times it'd look fine, and then it's switch to a different camera and look terrible. It was annoying, but I still enjoyed the movie.

Yeah, I have XXX on Blu. there's this really great scene where the two girls get naked and all oiled up and.....oh, wait, you mean the XXX with Vin Diesel. Yeah, don't have that one. I like my XXX without bald superagents, thank you.
