Really? No problems with the PS3? It will play all Blu Ray titles with no problems?

And is the quality of the PS3 just as good as any standalone Blu Ray unit when playing Blue Ray movies? Cuz I'm seriously considering returning my BDP1400 for something that will play all the blu ray discs without any problems.

Samsung seems to be crappy for B/C with Java App. There's always problems with them. They should do something about it next gen..... and don't release 3 model per year, but one that actually work well...

Jeff, do yourself a favor and get the PS3 or the new Panasonic DMP-BD30. I had a Sammy and nothing but trouble and the PS3 blows all the standalones away untill the Panasonic 30. The Panny 30 produces the best pic (PQ) out of all the players I have seen or tried yet. So if you don't go for the Panny then get the PS3. Trust me!

I took your advice C6 Z06!
I had one too many issues with the Samsung BDP1400 after only owning it for a week, so I returned it today and got the Panasonic BD30.
The first thing I did was pop in LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. The Samsung BDP1400 would not play it. The Panasonic read it no problem!! I also like the rewind and fast forward features on the Panasonic much better. The Samsung was too slow and just weird. The Panasonic cost me $100 more unfortunately, but it will be worth it for hassle free playability.

LOL Blu As Hell! Can't win 'em all I guess. LOL. Yes, I saw that there is a Nov. 20 update. I'll get on that. But atleast I haven't noticed any problems yet even without the update, and that's a huge improvement over the Samsung.

Glad to hear and congrats. Do you see a difference in the pic with the Panny 30?

The blacks seem stronger and better on the Panny 30, which is a really nice plus. And I think that the upconversion on regular DVD's seems a bit sharper too, which is also really cool.

How about you, what other areas of the Panny30 have you noticed as an improvement over other units?

Ha ha yes, but only in my own mind!....................................Ok, maybe to my 7yr old, but that goes away when they become a teen. I know, because I have one of those also, a teen that is. Boy, my life with kids is starting to look like the first few mins of the movie RV!!

Does the PS3 upscale regular DVDs too? It plays regular DVD's right?
I assume you connect the PS3 with HDMI, right?
