Yeah, Amazon.com... ya might even save a little

The only time it's not worked out the way I wanted is with the HP movies... The yank version says sorcerer instead of philosopher and I loose a fair bit of audio tracks and subs. Nothing a re-print of the cover can't fix, and since only care about the English track, no loss there.

Oh, you lose much more than just a fair bit of audio tracks. The Canadian edition has tons of audio tracks and subtitle tracks.

I also buy from DVDPacific.com sometimes as they do offer good deals sometimes. Never got nailed on customs using DVDPacific.com.

I just jumped on the amazon.com as apposed to the amazon.ca bandwagon, and made my first purchase, 6 DVD titles, with huge savings. Says that the shipment has been shipped out, (received email notification from amazon.com) However estimated arrival time is February 3rd-4th. Thats over a month away. There has to be a miss print there, wouldn't you say. What is the average wait time for people ordering from Canada on Amazon.com? Like I said this is my first order.

Thanks again, hope this works.

I wouldn't worry..they tell me it's 3-4 weeks away as well and then it arrives within a week.

Hopefully, thats true......

I will have to see how this turns out, and it will defiantly change the way I buy my Blue Ray Movies for this day forward. Cause the Box Stores, (Best Buy and Futureshop) are killing us Canadians here, on there pricing.

I find the same thing - usually about 1 week for me from the date shipped. (I ordered all 5 Harry Potter discs - they were broken into two shipments. Both shipped on Jan 3. I received 1 shipment on Jan 8 and one on Jan 9)

I'm in BC, but I've ordered from Amazon.com for years without problem.

Also been ordering from deepdiscount.com for years. You will get hit with duty from time to time on their orders though - just depends on the size. They're shipping is a lot less than amazon though, so sometimes it's still worth it.

I bought 2 BD from deepdiscount.com couple months ago with a BOGO and they sent my movies in 2 separates packages! Took a while(2 weeks i think) and had to pay tax and handling(customs duties kind of stuff).

Amazon.com seems to be way off in their estimated cross-border delivery dates. they usually come well before then, sometimes by weeks.
i just made my last order on the 7th, amazon estimates delivery to be the 25th, i'm expecting it to arrive by the 18th.

Yeah, I was told to expect the package by the 26th. But it came today.
