I watched all 5 movies today on my PS3 without a hitch. Latest firmware and all that jazz.

I just bought HP Goblet at Walmart today in Houston and it looks just like yours dalamchops: Tan art with no character photos.

Does this mean it will be defective? I hate being away from my PS3 cuz I can't test the movie until Friday.

If it doesn't work, will Wal-Mart let me return/exchange it since it is open?

Thanks!

Apparently they all have the same cover art for GOF.

Hey FFR, this is why I thought my disc art was wrong. Plus my DVD versions of Harry Potter all have character art/photos.

In the end, as long as my disc works fine, with no errors and with all the Special Features, then I don't care about the artwork.

My second disc was the tan art and not the charaters, but it played so I am happy about that. I am still a bit irratated about the disc art. I guess I'm overly anal, but since all the other dics have the chararter art so should GOB.

I am just happy to have a movie that plays now, but between this fiasco and the whole HD disc in the Blu-ray box set, WB really messed up the first must have true blockbuster title of hig def era. I am very concerend now that the fate of the hig def era rests in their hands since they can't even get their marque release to go off without a hitch.

The first HP film froze on chapter 21. I cleaned it but it still froze. Then i turned off the PS3 and restarted. Played fine until about chapter 25 where it began to skip and freeze again. That was my 60gig PS3 on FW 2.01. I then tried it on the 40gig FW 2.01 and it was fine. I suspect i may need to clean the the 60gig. Will an ordinary DVD cleaner work on the PS3?

Greetings,

Well I just picked up my second disc from Wal-mart as the first ne would not play in my PS3. Well this one does the same thing and I got the last one with this replacement.

I will return it tomorrow and go to Best Buy. You know this is really a pain in the ass.

I stopped by Target to pick up OotP and noticed they had Blu-Rays of every movie EXCEPT GoF.

Wonder if they've had a recall or something.

I've exchanged the GOF Bluray twice: once in Huntsville, Texas, and once again in Mansfield, Texas. Both Wal-Marts had the Tan artwork on the discs.

Now I think this was planned by Warner, though I don't know why GOF is the only one WITHOUT character artwork. I would love to see pics of the box-set discs and pictures of the individually purchased discs.

Greetings,

The replacement disc I picked up does not play either. I will return it and go to Best Buy.

This will be my third trip to the store to try and get a working copy.

I have both OOTP and SS in blu that both play just fine.

This is annoying...

All 5 Potter movies play fine in my 60GB PS3 with FW 2.01. Mine is the limited edition giftset directly from Warner Home Video.

Ralph,
I recommend asking a BB sales rep if you can try playing it in one of their Blu-ray displays. I did that on my third copy of GOF and it worked well. It also had the disc art of the HP characters and not the light brown one.

I'm haven some problems right now hahaha. Ever since My box set came and Goblet of Fire was HD-DVD.. I don't even want to hear the name Harry Potter, I'm just so pissed off. I see those box sets everywhere and it just pisses me even more off.
First thing I did after noticing it in my collection was I sent an angry letter to WHV.
But I have my box set covered right now cause i'm just so disapointed at this.

But I did get a letter from WHV today and they say they are working with their distributors to figure out the best way to deal with the problem alot of people our having with this situation and that they will get back to me soon.

Greetings,

I gave up. I got a third copy from Wal-mart because they would not refund my money until I agreed to try another one. Well got it home and had the same problem.

Here is the rub. I tried playing it on my Samsung 1400 and it played just fine. Now what ?

BTW- all three of these were the ones with the beige cover art and not the picture cover art.

I returned it and they refunded my money. I tried several changes to the settings on the PS3 but to no avail.

Just another example of the aggravating issues that seem to arise as blu-ray matures.

Regards,
