Default Chronicle of Narnia / Harry Potter Goblet of Fire

I'll probably end up buying both movies along with the order of the phoenix, but I was wondering about your opinions on these two movies.

The trailers for Goblet of Fire seems to show better special effects and an adult theme. Chronicles seem more kid friendly.

Order of the Phoenix has amazing PQ. Check out the reviews at the home page for Narnia.

Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings (and possibly Harry Potter), as the review states, are the only two film series that retained the charm of the books. I never thought I'd like The Chronicles of Narnia, but it turned out to be one of the best films of the year. What makes it so irresistible is how flawless it is in every regard. If you were ever going to buy a BD right now, seriously consider this movie.

The Goblet of Fire is my least favourite Harry Potter film. The characters are so unlikable here and by changing the characters so much, it's pretty much ruined the franchise. While it has fantastic special effects and great PQ, it focuses way too much on the Tri-Wizard tournament then on the actual characters, which the first 3 films mastered perfectly. If you're going to buy a Harry Potter film and don't already have any, buy either The Philosophers Stone or The Chamber of Secrets. If you like them (how can you not?) then definitely buy Prizoner of Azkaban. My advice: stop there.

Order of the Phoenix has great PQ, but it is the worst adaptation thus far. It was a major disappointment for me.

Goblet Of Fire And Order Of The Phoenix Look Good, But They Are Both A Disgrace Compared To Their Book. Like Stated Before, GOF Focuses More On The Tournament Then The Characters, And OOTP Left Out Almost The Entire Book. OOTP Depressed Me, I Left The Theaters Mad

My children preferred the first 3 Harry Potter movies. They say that they don't like the last two as much as the first three.

We prefer the film of Prisonor of Azkaban to Goblet of Fire. Both had a great story in their respective books, but only the former kept it in the film. I thought The Goblet of Fire seemed to be in a rush to get to the end, and too much seemed to be left out , including much of the plot and the characters of Dumbledore and Voldemort. Neither seemed to have the authority appropriate to their stature. They had to keep shouting to make any impression, rather than getting everyone around them to hang on their every word. Wonder if anyone agrees with that?

The Chronicles of Narnia has more staying power than Harry Potter. Harry Potter books don't even begin to compare to the quality of writing of CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien. 50 years from now Harry Potter will be all but forgotten to the next fad, but Chronicles and Lord of the Rings will still be among us.

I agree with Fly Free. Harry Potter is fun right now. Narnia and LOTR are the best fantasy your going to get with outstanding stories and acting to go with it.
