i doubt many of us would when its easier to go and buy a hard copy thats why i don't see downloads taking over for quite some time.

Most Blu-ray do not consume entire 50gb. Even exclusives. Movies like Transformers and Batman Begins are using around 25gb.

Some popular movies you can DL the whole file. Most are smaller rips from the master off the disc. For example if V for Vendetta is 25gb of HD-DVD disc.. the pirate version is often a smaller 4-8gb version. It is still HD just higher compression.. which can look surprisingly good. Videophiles will complain it is not quite as good.. but regardless people will do this because it is still way better than dvd and even better than no movie at all (because of funds).

If you want to see HD-DVD exclusive movies in HD, and are computer savy, it is not too hard.
