When do you think the individual releases of these extended editions will hit?
Last time for the theatricals, it was a five month wait. If WB sticks to that, we're looking at around the holidays for the individual releases, yes? Having watched the theatrical trilogy on Blu Ray for the first time, I've come to the conclusion that I just don't need the extended editions of Two Towers and Return of the King. No matter which cut, they both have their problems, so I might as well go with the shorter version (although, watching the theatrical of King for the first time since it's release in '03 wasn't that bad. It's got a nice flow to it.). The only extended edition that's an absolute must is Fellowship. I needs to have that but I'm not going to shell out 90 bucks for just one extended edition. And by the way, the Fellowship theatrical transfer wasn't that bad. It got better as the film went along. It's definitely, absolutely not upscaled DVD as some of labeled it. |

I know they were remastered. My point is that some people managed to get advanced examples of the PQ of Fellowship of the Ring and were harping about how bad it looked. I was annoyed then that these people had not even seen the BDs for themselves. So I was wondering if the same thing was going to happen with the EE release and we would again be treated to a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth with every frame being scrutinized by some so-called expert on the internet.

And for all of you who did not make it to use that Borders 50% code, you can use this other one BRR5721N but hurry up, because it's only good today, so time's ticking away! Again, it does not work with the STAR WARS set or Criterion titles, I guess they are excluded for some unexplained reason, but I can confirm it works for the LoTR EXTENDED boxset. |

How do you find out about these codes? Edit: Apparently this is good for ONE item, so it would not have done any good for me to order anything else at the same time. Last edited by radagast; 05-25-2011 at 05:36 PM. |
