As a proudly new owner of the Onkyo 805 I can safely say this receiver is simply amazing! The other models (605 and 705) look to be great too if the 805 is out of your price range. They're all fantastic electronics but I definitely place my vote on the 805 along with so many others!

Get the Yamaha RX-V1800. This is what the back looks like. Notice the 4 HDMI ins.

Denon gets my vote as well. I had two Sony ES receivers (including this years 3300ES model) before I got my Denon 2808CI last October, and there's simply no comparison-the Denon blows them away in both build quality and pure sound quality. Good luck and hope you enjoy whatever you go with!

Hey, just wondering. How many HDMI in are there on the Denom 2808CI? Looking on their website at pics and it looks like there is only 2.

Yup, only two. Didn't bother me since my only av gear is a PS3 and cable box (which I could happily use component for if necessary since it doesn't make much difference). I do wish it had at least one more for the price, but for me it wasn't a big deal at all. The 3808CI on the other hand has 4, but it's also much more expensive. I use mine alot for music as well, so I just couldn't pass up the sound quality. However, I really like the features, connectivity and design as well.

Hey, how much is the 805 selling for? The Pioneer Elite I'm looking at is about $1000. Where did you purchase the 805? I couldn't find it on bestbuy or futureshop websites.

I think the best bang for your buck is the Yamaha RX-V1800. Just a great receiver for the price.
