It is President's day on Monday and most businesses will be open.

That is a tough one but I am inclined to say no. I think they might celebrate Prime Minister's Day though.

Yes, but companies still operate even if the market is closed. Monday should be a good news day.

Well all the sources keep hinting to Toshiba speaking up on Monday. If that is true then I see a few possibilities.

1. In order to save face, Universal or Paramount, or both, will have to make an announcement either on Sunday or early Monday before Toshiba.

2. Toshiba will make their announcement on Monday and later in the day Universal, Paramount, or both will make their announcements. Which will make them look like fools.

3. Universal and Paramount can make their announcement on Tuesday one day after Toshiba, which will make them look like bigger fools.

4. They all can make a unified announcement which will make them all look like fools, but to a lesser extent.

I'm guessing June; that seems to be when all the major shifts are going down. Now, when they announce the change might be different though.

The only face the studios are trying to save is their own. The stockholders are going to bust in all their teeth if they don't get on the bandwagon by the end of this quarter.

I expect announcements this week - remember, they're not going to pull down any more of Toshiba's marketing money payments, that boat has sailed - and they'll sell whatever's in inventory, and pull the plug.

No new machines being built? Why prep more movies?

Mark my words: Dual format announcements immediately, no new pressings period also announced, current inventory is all she wrote.

School is out.
