A few more blu's I have owned have had the same issue. I have repurchased the affected discs just recently.

Yikes, touch wood I haven't had any in my collection do that. You say you've had a few, is it maybe affected by climate? Have you ever tried contacting respective companies with pictures of the discs to see if they would replace them?
