Some test DVDs are already sent to the press, and apparently, this release is 1.77 instead of the 2.35 seen in theaters.

All the others movies were 2.35, so if someone can explain what the f--- is going on, I hope it's not another Planet Terror thing I want the 2.35 widescreen version.

How was the movie? any quick opinions on it? I'm a big Rocky fan and just saw the new one, have mixed feelings on it, didn't really think it was that great... Hopefully Rambo faired better for good ol Sly

I don't have the DVD test myself, I just grabbed this online. We'll see, but you gotta realise, in the specs, the format was never mentioned.

I thought Rocky was better than Rambo because it was more about the character than the action. The action in Rambo is awesome, and it's still a great flick, but I thought Rocky was better.

HDD lists it as 2.35:1 in the specs. Not that they've never been wrong. I really can't imagine they've botched something as simple as AR.

I still talk about Rambo in front of my friends convincing them to watch it because it's just that badass. IMO, Rambo puts Rocky Balboa to shame. Rambo also had character, he had the bad attitude type character.

It was definitely a nostalgic walk through the life of the Italian Stallion. Something about though, Rocky always fought these outrageous opponents that he had no chance of winning....
[Show spoiler] I think the fight should not have ended in a split decision, watching boxing you want to see a KO victory, maybe I felt like it was a cheap way out, loosing when it appeared Rocky was actually holding his own and winning

I did like the character development in the movie, it was more story than anything, but I hope this is the last entry...by far this was waaay better than Rocky V

If only boxing in real life were that entertaining...

On topic, I'm looking forward to seeing Rambo now

I am also a fan of the Rocky and Rambo movies and for me this was the best Rambo...hands down. It's super violent and tainted with blood, so be warned. It's not an intelligent movie but it has great action and some suspense. As my wife put it, Rambo was worth the price of the ticket just to see that BOOMING 50 Cal. sniper rifle. I can't wait to hear how that sounds on my system.

I loved Rambo!! Such a guilty pleasure! My sister in-law was totally bashing it and constantly repeated that people who like this was sick. Well.... I love the 50. cal. Brilliant just Brilliant!

No meaningful character development. Just soldiers who do what they do.

Senseless violence at its best

Rambo 4 was so damn good! Intense and bloody, that's the way I like it! It proved that even at 60 years old, Sylvester Stallone is still going strong!

I'm awfully tempted to buy this seeing as how it's 7.1. Hopefully this 7.1 DTS HD MA works like it's supposed to, not like some titles (looks in the direction of NL).

just watched this on BD... the sound is fantastic... bullets flyin left and right... the picture is also pristine as it should be I suppose... didn't see this in the theater, but was the 'red' cranked up in the theaters as well? the blood (probably at the request of director Stallone) was very visible and well, red...

that was just about the most violent movie I've ever seen...
