Some test DVDs are already sent to the press, and apparently, this release is 1.77 instead of the 2.35 seen in theaters.

All the others movies were 2.35, so if someone can explain what the f--- is going on, I hope it's not another Planet Terror thing I want the 2.35 widescreen version.

I don't have the DVD test myself, I just grabbed this online. We'll see, but you gotta realise, in the specs, the format was never mentioned.

I thought Rocky was better than Rambo because it was more about the character than the action. The action in Rambo is awesome, and it's still a great flick, but I thought Rocky was better.

HDD lists it as 2.35:1 in the specs. Not that they've never been wrong. I really can't imagine they've botched something as simple as AR.

I still talk about Rambo in front of my friends convincing them to watch it because it's just that badass. IMO, Rambo puts Rocky Balboa to shame. Rambo also had character, he had the bad attitude type character.

Right, but there was no development of his character, which is what I found more appealing about RB.

It was definitely a nostalgic walk through the life of the Italian Stallion. Something about though, Rocky always fought these outrageous opponents that he had no chance of winning....
[Show spoiler] I think the fight should not have ended in a split decision, watching boxing you want to see a KO victory, maybe I felt like it was a cheap way out, loosing when it appeared Rocky was actually holding his own and winning

I did like the character development in the movie, it was more story than anything, but I hope this is the last entry...by far this was waaay better than Rocky V

If only boxing in real life were that entertaining...

On topic, I'm looking forward to seeing Rambo now

[Show spoiler]While my first thought was that it would have tied it up better had he won, that's not what the movie is about. He's not necessarily fighting against Dixon, and he's not necessarily fighting to win. He's fighting to chase out the "beast" inside of him, to prove to himself that he still has something to offer. It's also meant to be a mirror of sorts for the first film, where he has his own personal goals, and winning isn't necessarily his goal.
He said this would be the last, and that he intended Rocky V to be the last, but he said it didn't feel like a fitting end for the character, as his character didn't really evolve. RB has a very fitting end,
[Show spoiler]where he's going out, not necessarily on top, but having proved to everyone, and most importantly himself, that he is more than a washed up ex-champ, and can move on to the next stage of his life.

I really like Rocky Balboa

Yes so did I, it was a much better way to end the Rocky series than V was.

Well said. I see now that it's a movie in it's own right, a fitting end to the series, and like you said
[Show spoiler] going out with pride, dignity, not necessarily on top, but he had a goal to fight again and he gave it one hell of a try. The crowd cheering, celebrating his career, was fitting for the end of RB.

I am also a fan of the Rocky and Rambo movies and for me this was the best Rambo...hands down. It's super violent and tainted with blood, so be warned. It's not an intelligent movie but it has great action and some suspense. As my wife put it, Rambo was worth the price of the ticket just to see that BOOMING 50 Cal. sniper rifle. I can't wait to hear how that sounds on my system.
